Role Summary: As a Senior Analyst in the Business Metadata Team, you will play a crucial role in specializing in metadata and supporting the Data Platform as part of the LSEG-Microsoft Partnership. You will be responsible for delivering data on our platform Metadata and Data Catalogue Strategy, ensuring that the collection, creation, utilization, and publication of metadata are of the highest standard. This function is vital as it informs, supports, and entrusts the way we describe correct data for all our partners, both internal and external. To be successful, you will bring a passion for understanding, explaining, and delivering our overall data platform strategy along with leading metadata professionals. You will focus on metadata – the information which describes our data, generates our data catalogue, automates our data platform, and allows our data managers to properly govern our data. You will partner closely with our product owners, data governance office, technology architects, data managers, and content teams.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
- Metadata Management: Oversee the collection, creation, utilization, and publication of metadata to ensure it meets the highest standards.
- Data Catalogue Strategy: Implement and maintain the data catalogue strategy, ensuring it supports all use cases effectively.
- Collaboration: Work closely with product owners, data governance office, technology architects, data managers, and content teams to ensure metadata is accurately described and utilized.
- Automation: Focus on automating the process to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure the quality and integrity of metadata through regular audits and reviews.
- Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of metadata processes and standards.
Required Skills:
- Metadata Expertise: Deep understanding of metadata and its role in data platforms.
- Data Governance: Strong knowledge of data governance principles and practices.
- Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with data management tools and technologies. Knowledge in SQL, Macros, Power query, Power Apps or Python will be added advantage.
- Analytical Skills: Ability to analyse and interpret complex data and metadata.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to explain metadata concepts to various stakeholders.
- Collaboration: Proven ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams. Ability to work under pressure, independently as well as in team environment.
- Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in managing metadata.
- Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skills to address metadata-related challenges.
- Project Management: Experience in managing projects related to metadata and data platforms.
