Role Purpose

The Senior Business Finance Manager will act as a strategic partner to the leadership team, driving financial planning, commercial insights, and operational rigor across the organization. This is not a traditional accounting role; it is a hands-on, high-ownership position focused on building financial intelligence to support rapid scale.

Key Responsibilities

1. Financial Planning & Forecasting

• Lead annual budgeting, quarterly reforecasts, and long-range planning.
• Develop scenario-based financial models aligned to Whizzos scale-up journey.
• Translate business plans into actionable financial roadmaps.

2. Commercial & Operational Business Partnering

• Work closely with sales, sourcing, and operations teams to evaluate:
• Product/category profitability
• Customer-level contribution margins
• Pricing strategies and trade-offs
• Support leadership with data-backed decisions on new opportunities, vendor structures, and expansion initiatives.

3. MIS, Analytics & Performance Visibility

• Build robust MIS frameworks that go beyond reporting to deliver insights.
• Track KPIs across revenue, gross margins, working capital, and inventory turns.
• Drive performance reviews with functional leaders to identify improvement levers.

4. Working Capital & Cash Discipline

• Monitor receivables, payables, and inventory cycles in a manufacturing-led environment.
• Improve cash conversion cycle and establish guardrails around credit and exposure.
• Partner with business teams to balance growth with capital efficiency.

5. Investor & Leadership Reporting

• Support preparation of monthly investor updates, dashboards, and board materials.
• Assist in financial modeling, diligence preparation, and fundraising analysis when required.
• Ensure alignment between operational metrics and financial outcomes.

6. Process Building & Financial Governance

• Establish scalable finance processes suited for a high-growth startup.
• Introduce structured review mechanisms, cost controls, and data integrity checks.
• Collaborate with accounting, audit, and compliance teams to ensure financial accuracy.

Ideal Candidate Profile

• CA / MBA (Finance) / CFA (or equivalent).
• 6-10 years of relevant experience in FP&A, business finance, or consulting-led analytics roles.
• Exposure to manufacturing, textiles, supply-chain, B2B, or industrial sectors.
• Prior experience in a startup or scale-up environment where structures are being built.
• Strong understanding of unit economics, margin drivers, and working capital dynamics.
• Advanced Excel and financial modeling capabilities.
• Ability to convert ambiguous business problems into structured financial analysis.
• Strong stakeholder management comfortable working with founders and operators.
• Hands-on, execution-focused mindset with high ownership.
• Clear communicator who can simplify complex financial insights.
