Job Overview

The Data Analytics Senior Analyst is a seasoned professional role. Applies in-depth disciplinary knowledge, contributing to the development of new techniques and the improvement of processes and work-flow for the area or function. Integrates subject matter and industry expertise within a defined area. Requires in-depth understanding of how areas collectively integrate within the sub-function as well as coordinate and contribute to the objectives of the function and overall business. Evaluates moderately complex and variable issues with substantial potential impact, where development of an approach/taking of an action involves weighing various alternatives and balancing potentially conflicting situations using multiple sources of information. Requires good analytical skills in order to filter, prioritize and validate potentially complex and dynamic material from multiple sources. Strong communication and diplomacy skills are required. Regularly assumes informal/formal leadership role within teams. Involved in coaching and training of new recruits. Significant impact in terms of project size, geography, etc. by influencing decisions through advice, counsel and/or facilitating services to others in area of specialization. Work and performance of all teams in the area are directly affected by the performance of the individual.

Key Responsibilities:

• Requirements Elicitation & Analysis: Lead and facilitate workshops, interviews, and other techniques to gather, analyze, and document complex business requirements from various stakeholders across BFSI domains. Translate high-level business objectives into detailed functional and non-functional specifications for data analytics and regulatory reporting solutions.
• Data Analytics Strategy & Implementation: Collaborate with data engineers, and other technical teams to design, develop, and implement data analytics solutions, dashboards, and reports that provide actionable insights to business users. Define data requirements, data sources, data transformations, and data quality standards.
• Regulatory Reporting Expertise: Possess in-depth knowledge of BFSI regulatory frameworks (e.g., Basel III, CCAR, Dodd-Frank, MiFID II, Solvency II, IFRS 9, BCBS 239) and reporting requirements. Drive the analysis, interpretation, and implementation of new and updated regulatory mandates, ensuring accurate and timely submission of reports.
• Stakeholder Management & Communication: Act as a primary liaison between business units (e.g., Risk, Finance, Compliance, Operations) and IT teams. Clearly communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and translate business needs into technical specifications.
• Project Leadership & Mentorship: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior business analysts. Contribute to project planning, scope definition, and risk management. Drive best practices in business analysis and data governance.
• Testing & Quality Assurance: Define test strategies and cases for data analytics and regulatory reporting solutions. Collaborate with QA teams to ensure solutions meet business requirements, data accuracy, and regulatory compliance.
• Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process optimization and automation within data analytics and regulatory reporting workflows.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance or Computer Science or a related quantitative field.
• 8 - 12 years of progressive experience as a Business Analyst, specifically within the BFSI sector.
• Demonstrable expertise in Data Analytics, including experience with data modeling, data warehousing, business intelligence tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, QlikView), and SQL.
• Extensive hands-on experience with BFSI Regulatory Reporting, understanding of key regulations, and the full lifecycle of regulatory report generation and submission.
• Strong understanding of financial products, markets, and banking operations.
• Proven ability to gather, analyze, and document complex business requirements.
• Experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban).
• Excellent communication (written and verbal), interpersonal, and presentation skills.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking abilities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
• Certifications such as CBAP, PMI-PBA, FRM, or relevant data analytics certifications are a plus.
