Brief about the Team:

The Dataverse team works closely with the org-wide leadership team, business, product, growth, and category teams to drive operational excellence and business growth. The team works on special strategic projects and innovations that aim to deliver high impact. The projects span across all business verticals, making healthcare more accessible, understandable, and affordable for millions of users.

What You Will Do

We're seeking a hybrid Machine Learning & Decision Scientist who can solve complex, high-value business problems through predictive modeling and decision optimization. You will develop scalable machine learning solutions and operations research models that enable data-driven decisions, optimize performance, and unlock new growth opportunities.

Machine Learning Engineer / Predictive Modeler

Focus: Develop and deploy machine learning models for prediction, classification, and forecasting to solve high-value business problems.
Tools: Python, scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch
Output: Robust and scalable predictive models integrated into production systems.

Decision Scientist / Operations Researcher

Focus: Apply optimization techniques, simulations, and decision modeling to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance decision-making.
Tools: Linear programming, simulation tools, decision trees, R, Python, OR libraries like PuLP, Google OR-Tools, Gurobi, CPLEX
Output: Prescriptive analytics and optimized business processes implemented across functional teams.

Problem Solving via Predictive Modeling & Machine Learning

Develop and deploy machine learning models to solve complex business problems and drive strategic growth

Build scalable pipelines for model training, evaluation, and monitoring in production environments

Apply advanced techniques (e.g., deep learning, forecasting, optimization) and operations research for scenario planning and decision support

Business Strategy & Impact

Identify key business questions, define project goals and metrics, and ensure execution aligns with measurable business outcomes

Leverage business acumen to translate data insights into actionable strategies and high-impact decisions

Cross Functional Collaboration

Partner with product, engineering, and business teams to frame analytical problems and integrate solutions into internal tools and workflows

Strategic Communication of Insights

Communicate modeling approaches, insights, and business impact clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences

Provide frequent updates to the leadership team, delivering actionable insights and model outcomes that guide strategic priorities and operational efficiency

What we are looking for :

1-3 years of working experience in Data Science (machine learning, predictive modeling, or operations research.)

Hands-on experience with model development and deployment in production environments.

Proficiency in Python (with libraries like scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch) and SQL.

Experience with OR tools (e.g., PuLP, Google OR-Tools, Gurobi, CPLEX) and simulation (SimPy or similar).

Experience with building model training and evaluation pipelines

Working experience with healthcare data, Airflow to set up data pipelines, and/or FastAPI/Flask for building APIs will be a plus

Good presentation skills including clear articulation of the problem statement and impact

Comfort with ambiguity: Translate business questions into analytical problems and build solutions using visualization techniques, machine learning, and statistical modeling to ensure that a robust, scalable solution is developed
