Were looking for a Senior Brand Designer who can bring clarity, imagination, and intent to the creative process - someone who thinks in thoughtful systems, invests deeply in the craft, and knows how to turn ideas into memorable brand design.
A QUICK OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE: At Thought Over Design, the role of a Sr. Brand Designer is to conceptualize and implement design that can build meaning - shape narratives, systems, and expressions that bring a brands purpose to life.
Youll lead branding projects end-to-end, work closely with creative leadership, designers, strategists and project managers, and bring a sound POV to every stage of impactful creative work: from decoding the brief to crafting sharp identity concepts, visual languages, packaging systems, communication and so on.

Design Leadership
- Lead brand identity projects from insight to execution.
- Guide designers through process, feedback, reviews and recaliberations with clear direction.
- Facilitate cross-team co-creations with various creatives for e.g. writers, collaborators, design-researchers and so on.
- Translate strategy into powerful concepts, visual systems, and brand worlds.
- Set the creative pace on projects, ensuring a high level of craft and consistency along with timely progress.
- Present ideas with confidence, bringing clarity and conviction to clients.
- Partner with PMs to build workflows, meet milestones, avoid delays and maintain alignment between teams through the creative phase of a project.
- Help designers achieve success, grow, upskill and address challenges.
Conceptual Thinking
- Unpack briefs, ask sharp questions, and design with intention.
- Understand business context and use research, culture, and insight to elevate the work.
- Bring a strong point of view to critiques and discussions; push beyond the obvious.
- Balance big-picture brand thinking with meticulous visual craft.
- Partner with strategists to shape cohesive brand worlds.
- Use storytelling - decks, moodboards, narratives - to shape strong creative arguments.
Craft, Systems & Execution
- Build flexible brand systems that work across mediums - identity, typography, packaging, digital, motion.
- Maintain a keen eye for grids, type, colour, composition, and editorial finesse.
- Move comfortably across styles, moods, and industries while maintaining your own sense of taste.
- Iterate openly, respond to feedback thoughtfully, and uphold high-quality standards across all deliverables.
Client Partnership
- Act as a trusted creative partner to clients, founders and brand teams.
- Communicate design decisions with clarity, empathy and conviction.
- Translate feedback into action while protecting the integrity of the creative process.
Studio Ownership
- Elevate studio standards with fresh thinking, cultural awareness, and global references.
- Inspire the team through internal critiques, references, and curiosity.
- Support hiring decisions by identifying strong creative talent and collaborators.
- Help strengthen processes, organisation, and overall creative operations.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- 8+ years of experience in a design studio, branding firm, or creative environment.
- An exceptional portfolio that demonstrates range, systems thinking, and craft.
- Strong skills in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign (Figma is a plus).
- A strategic mind that understands context, not just composition.
- Clear communication and presentation skills you can hold your own with clients and creatives alike.
- Experience with mentoring designers and guiding younger talent.
- Ability to work across multiple projects without compromising detail or vision.
- Curiosity, initiative, taste and the willingness to keep learning.
