We've successfully launched our AI counselor for online courses and are now scaling to domestic colleges, building a comprehensive Lead Management System, and creating dashboards for universities and students.

Role Overview

Employment Type: Full-time

Location: Gurgaon (On-site/Hybrid)

We're looking for a passionate backend/AI engineer who can take ownership of our AI infrastructure, expand our RAG system, and build scalable backend systems that power our platform.

What You'll Do

AI/ML & RAG Systems

• Expand our existing RAG system from online courses to domestic colleges (500+ colleges) and enhance user experience.
• Design and optimize vector search and retrieval strategies
• Work with embeddings, vector databases, and LLM APIs
• Improve AI counselor response accuracy and relevance
• Build data ingestion pipelines for college and course information
• Experiment with different embedding models and retrieval techniques

Backend Development

• Design and build Lead Management System (LMS) backend
• Create robust APIs for student, university, and admin dashboards
• Implement lead capture, assignment, tracking, and analytics workflows
• Build scalable microservices architecture
• Optimize database queries and API performance

System Architecture

• Design scalable, maintainable backend architecture
• Implement caching strategies for performance
• Set up monitoring, logging, and alerting
• Write comprehensive API documentation
• Ensure security best practices

Must-Have Skills

AI/ML Expertise

• Hands-on experience with RAG systems or similar AI applications
• Working knowledge of vector databases (Atlas Vector Search, Pinecone, Weaviate, Qdrant, or similar )
• Experience with embeddings and semantic search
• Familiarity with LangChain, LlamaIndex, or similar frameworks
• Understanding of prompt engineering and LLM optimization

Backend Development

• Strong proficiency in Node.js/Express or Python/FastAPI
• Experience with MongoDB and PostgreSQL
• RESTful API design and best practices
• Authentication & authorization (JWT, OAuth)
• Git version control and collaborative development

Problem Solving

• Strong algorithmic and data structure knowledge
• Ability to debug complex systems
• Performance optimization mindset
• Clean, maintainable code practices

Nice to Have

• Experience with Next.js or React integration
• Knowledge of AWS, GCP, or Azure
• Previous EdTech or SaaS experience
• Startup experience (0-1 or early-stage)
• Open-source contributions
• Experience with Redis, Elasticsearch
• Understanding of CI/CD pipelines
