Senior Azure Data Engineer

Role Overview

As a Senior Azure Data Engineer at DCX, you will play a key role in delivering optimal data solutions that empower our clients. Specialising in Azure Data Factory, Synapse, and data pipeline development, you will leverage your expertise to ensure seamless and reliable data engineering processes. This position requires a strategic thinker who can lead efforts in data architecture and contribute to building a data-driven culture within the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

Design, implement and maintain complex data pipelines using Azure Data Factory and Azure Synapse Analytics.

Collaborate with end clients and internal cross-functional teams, including business analysts, architects, and developers to translate business requirements into scalable data solutions

Ensure data quality, security, and compliance across all data projects.

Optimise and fine-tune data workloads for enhanced performance and cost efficiency

Engage directly with clients to deliver solutions in line with their specific data challenge and build strong relationships, with occasional travel as required

Troubleshoot and resolve complex data engineering issues promptly Required Skills and Qualifications

Technical Expertise

o Extensive experience in DataBricks, Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse, and other related data services.

o Skilled in data transformation, ETL processes, and data warehousing concepts.

o Experience in building and managing Azure Data Factory pipelines.

o Understanding of REST APIs for integration development.

o Strong knowledge of T-SQL.

o Experience in creating Apache Spark notebooks for data processing and analytics.

o Familiarity with using source control systems such as Git.

o Understanding of Azure infrastructure components used in data processing (e.g., storage accounts, runtimes, and storage-related networking setups).

o Strong analytical skills to assess and improve data processing activities.

o Demonstrable ability to collaborate with diverse teams and manage stakeholder expectations effectively

Commercial Awareness

o Understanding of the commercial impact of technology solutions and ability to align them with clients business goals.

Academic Qualifications

Bachelors degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Professional certifications in Azure data services are advantageous.
