Senior Automation Test Engineer

What success looks like in this role:

A Senior Automation Test Engineer for Chatbot Implementation Testing is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining automated test frameworks to validate AI-based conversational agents, ensuring high-quality user experiences. They specialize in automating NLU/NLP-driven interactions, REST API validation, and integration testing using tools like Python, Typescript and specialized AI testing frameworks. 

Key Responsibilities

·       Framework Development: Build and maintain automated test frameworks for chatbots, voice bots, and AI agents.

·       Chatbot-Specific Testing: Automate scenarios to test intent recognition, entity extraction, dialog flow management, and NLU accuracy.

·       Would be majorly responsible for leading the testing activities the chatbot both in manual and automated tests for various client onboarding and implementations.

·       API & Backend Automation: Validate chatbot responses by testing APIs (REST/SOAP) and backend integrations using tools like Postman or RestAssured.

·       Test Automation Strategy: Define and implement end-to-end automation strategies, including UI (web/mobile) and functional, non-functional (load/performance) testing.

·       CI/CD Integration: Integrate automated scripts into CI/CD pipelines (GitLab, Jenkins) to enable continuous testing.

·       Defect Management: Identify, debug, and track defects, providing detailed reports to developers.

·       Mentorship: Guide junior QA members on automation best practices and code reviews.

You will be successful in this role if you have:

·       Experience: 5-8 years of relevant experience in software testing with at least 3+ years in test automation.

·       Programming: Strong scripting skills in Python, Typescript etc.

·       Tools: Expertise in Python, Appium (for mobile bots), and API testing tools.

·       AI/Chatbot Knowledge: Understanding of AI chatbots (rule-based, NLU, LLM).

·       Methodologies: Proficient in Agile/Scrum development environments.

·       Education: Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field. 

Preferred Qualifications

·       Familiarity with performance testing tools like JMeter or LoadRunner.

·       Knowledge of chatbot platforms
