Automation Specialist - Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Finance Accounts Automation Specialist to streamline and optimize our financial processes using tools such as Excel, SAP, Outlook, web scraping technologies, Microsoft Power Automate, and RPA (Robotic Process Automation). The ideal candidate will have a strong background in finance and accounting, coupled with expertise in process automation, to ensure efficiency, accuracy, and compliance in financial workflows.

Key Responsibilities:

Process Automation & Optimization:

• Develop and implement automation solutions for repetitive financial tasks using Microsoft Power Automate, RPA tools (e.g., UiPath, Blue Prism, or Automation Anywhere), and Excel macros/VBA.

• Automate data extraction and reconciliation from SAP, Excel, and other financial systems.

• Design workflows to integrate SAP with other systems, including email and file-sharing platforms like Outlook and SharePoint.

Data Analysis & Reporting:

• Build and maintain dashboards in Excel or Power BI for financial reporting.

• Develop automated solutions to extract, clean, and analyze financial data using advanced Excel functions, scripts, or APIs.

• Perform reconciliation tasks and ensure the accuracy of reports generated through automated processes.

Web Scraping & Data Integration:

• Use web scraping tools (e.g., Python, Selenium) to collect relevant financial and market data from external sources.

• Integrate web-scraped data into existing financial models and reports.

Financial Systems Support:

• Manage and optimize SAP processes, ensuring smooth integration with other tools.

• Support the finance team with SAP-related troubleshooting and process improvements.

Collaboration & Training:

• Work closely with finance, accounts payable/receivable, and procurement teams to identify automation opportunities.

• Train team members on using automation tools and interpreting automated workflows.

• Document processes and workflows for scalability and future reference.

Compliance & Security:

• Ensure that all automated solutions comply with company policies and financial regulations.

• Safeguard sensitive financial data through secure coding and workflow design.

Qualifications:

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Computer Science, or a related field.

• Certification in automation tools (e.g., UiPath Certified RPA Developer) or Microsoft Power Automate is a plus.

Technical Skills:

• Advanced knowledge of Excel (macros, VBA, advanced formulas).

• Proficiency in SAP modules relevant to finance and accounting.

• Experience with RPA tools (UiPath, Blue Prism, Automation Anywhere) and workflow automation (Power Automate, SharePoint).

• Basic programming knowledge (Python, JavaScript, or SQL) for automation and web scraping.

• Familiarity with Outlook integration for automated email workflows.

• Understanding of financial processes, including accounts payable/receivable, reconciliation, and reporting.

Soft Skills:

• Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.

• Attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and compliance.

Preferred Experience:

• 3+ years of experience in finance or accounting with a focus on process automation.

• Hands-on experience with integrating SAP and Microsoft automation tools.

• Prior exposure to web scraping or similar data extraction techniques.
