Job Title: Senior Analyst
Mode of Work: WFH/WFO/Hybrid
Experience: 3 - 6 years of experience in Valuation Analyst role.
Our Business Valuations & Advisory team is one of the growing teams in our office. As part of our team, you will provide our clients your valuable inputs by using your skills and experience to give companies, investors, and regulators confidence in the validity of financial statements and business-critical information or processes.
Job Summary:
Looking for a candidate for assistance in the conducting the valuation assignments for several scenarios for private equity firms, private company valuation, purchase price allocation, intangible assets valuation, goodwill impairment testing & legal entity valuation, deals, mergers and acquisitions.
A successful Valuation Analyst should:
- Possess technical knowledge sufficient to lead engagements, including coordinating workflow & tasks with clients; resolve experience to provide valuations support.
- Possess significant knowledge of various valuation methods and techniques.
- Take ownership and independence for delivery of high-quality work. Develop self and others through seeking and offering on the job coaching and audit engagement experiences.
- Execution and understanding of different financial models and building them.
- Demonstrate professional skepticism and compliance with our risk management and independence policies.
- Start to build relationships across our client offerings and seek opportunities to work together.
- Build strong credibility through displaying good insight and business acumen, applying technical competence, and engaging in relevant discussions with clients and engagement teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Preparation of valuations of business entities, common stock, gift and estate valuations,
shareholder buy-out, and purchase and sale transactions.
Financial reporting valuations a plus but not required:
o Business combinations (purchase price allocations), including enterprise valuation of
intangible assets
o Analyzing goodwill and long-lived asset impairment
o Financial analysis and related research
o Inventory, deferred revenue, contingent consideration
o Debt and equity components analysis.
Advising clients on business plan development, strategic investment decisions, or other financial
objectives.
- Analysis of different types of valuation projects including Equity Incentive Awards (ASC 718 & 409A).
- Fair Value Measurements (ASC 820), Goodwill Impairment (ASC 350), Gift and Estate tax valuation.
- Evaluation of the company's Enterprise Value using valuation methods such as the Income Approach (DCF and CCF), Market/Relative Approach (GPC, GTM Adjusted EV), and Cost Approach.
- Allocation of Equity value through various allocation methods like the Black-Scholes Option PricingMethod, Current Value Method, and Probability Weighted Expected Return Method.
- Analyzing publicly traded comparable companies and M&A transactions through widely used databases like Capital IQ, Pitchbook, Deal stats etc.
- Analysing and reviewing the detailed financial model of public/private equities.
- Conducting training of team members to maximize their potential, providing Insights to the team on building financial models.
- Perform Ad hoc company research, financial models, assisted in valuations.
To qualify, candidates must have:
- Commerce Graduate with preferable a finance, economics major.
- Having 2-3 years experience specifically in conducting the valuation assignments
- Ability to understand businesses of the client and the affecting dynamics
- Well-read and hands on with current developments in the valuation field
- Good grip on numbers and good analytical aptitude
- Sound understanding of valuation concepts
- Strong verbal and written communications skills.
- Sound knowledge of Advanced Excel and PowerPoint
- The ability to use a database and extract required details from thereon will be a plus
- Must be proactive in communications and work-flow management
- Ability to work within stringent timelines
- Should have a good knowledge of databases like Capital IQ, Pitchbook
