Role profile:

The Senior Associate role will report directly to the Director of Resilience Risk Management (RRM). RRM has business first-line responsibility for Operational Resilience (OpRes) risk working alongside the various Equity businesses to identify and remediate risks and maintain Regulatory compliance. The role supports the broader delivery and governance of all RRM programmatic and BAU OpRes results. It will also have managerial responsibility to cover our India-based team.

The role will primarily be passionate about the fulfilment of all resilience responsibilities under existing and future regulation including the UK’s PS21/3 regulation, the EU’s Digital Operational Resilience Act (DORA). This covers multiple resilience-focused dimensions including technology, data, cyber, people, property and third-party suppliers) so having a strong technical background will be key in addition to understanding how risks are identified, assessed and mitigated. As the candidate will work alongside key business, technical and operational partners within the broader Equities group of businesses (including LSEG Group), the ability to logically develop plans with deliveries.

In parallel, as RRM grows its team outside of London, the candidate also help develop the team locally so that we encourage a high performing team within RRM regardless of location. This will allow for the creation an additional trusted partner improving our OpRes posture.

Key Responsibilities of the role:

  • supporting the delivery of the Operational Resiliency agenda, governance, working directly with business partners, reporting and processes:
  • Responsible for leading key deliveries across Resilience Operational Risk activities
  • Directly working with team members and business, technical or operational partners to aid in delivering Regulatory compliance across both technical and non-technical areas.
  • Shaping, coordination and management of recurring governance forums.
  • Responsible for local team helping to build a high-performing group and its day-to-day management
  • Responsible for the delivery, tracking and monitoring of key Resilience Risk achievements and objectives, providing a structured and evidence-based view of all stage gates.
  • Responsible for defining and maintaining the interpersonal design, roles and responsibilities required to deliver operational resiliency. 
  • Create performance indicators for collecting, analysing and reporting key data points to Accountable Executives (AE) and Business Service Managers (BSM) across the Important Business Services (IBS).
  • Support and supply towards the implementation of an effective governance structure, facilitate scenario testing and vulnerability assessment to ensure continuous improvement and aid with making businesses more resilience and safer.
  • Support delivery of key workstreams aligned to the Enhanced Operational Resilience Embedding (EORE) Programme, its successor programme and DORA to ensure oversight, embedding and compliance
  • Responsible to lead, coordinate and deliver PS21/3 annual self-assessment and any related Board reporting activities.
  • Primary lead for any updates/annual review for IBS Impact Tolerance reviews including providing input into the creation of severe but plausible scenarios.
  • Accountable for all Operational Resilience reporting including Dimensional Resilience, Service Resilience and Vulnerability report.
  • Accountable for the governance framework, terms of reference of the specific governance forums that coordinate LSE plc’s Operational Resilience outputs on an ongoing and specific project results. 

Experience and skills required:

  • Technology Risk Management:  Strong understanding of risk and controls within technology and how they are used to assess, identify and mitigate risk.
  • Technology:   ability to apply existing technical knowledge to more deeply understand the tools, services and requirements of Equities-based businesses
  • Team Management:  experience leading a small team so that they become a high-performing team and seamlessly integrate with the broader RRM team and its partners
  • Upskilling:  deep curiosity about technology and an ability to learn new technical processes, implementations and tooling to facilitate Operational Risk discussions with SMEs, partners and process owners.
  • Project Management: Pro-actively builds outcomes and project objectives. Organise workloads and support team members in achieving effective governance and enhanced reporting mechanisms.
  • Operational Improvements: Identifies opportunities to improve efficiency while providing detailed transactions, services, and products, handles monetary assets and other resources to optimise cost effectiveness.
  • Business partnership: Acts as a trusted advisor regarding relevant markets, business strategies and operating environments to both the business and partners and identifies possible solutions to issues that arise.
  • Business/product understanding: Knowledge of the industry processes, market products and applications to use in risk analysis activities.
  • Change: Uses a systematic approach to look after change, transition or transformation of an organisation's goals, processes, or technologies, implementing strategies for effecting behavioural and cultural change, controlling change, and helping people to adapt to change.
  • Communication: Communicates with clarity and precision, presenting complex and / or technical information in a concise format that is audience appropriate​.
  • Critical thinking: Develops a broad, big-picture view and its mission to innovate through analysis of issues and trends and how these link to responsibilities, capabilities, and potential of the organisation.
  • People management: Leads people, holding responsibility for motivation, attraction, retention, and performance management.​

Candidate Profile / Key Skills

  • Ability to operate at Assistant Manager / Manager level role.
  • Ability to learn new skills and grow into broad roles
  • Hands on experience of concepts in a 1LoD environment.
  • Applied knowledge of OpRes regulatory requirements for e.g., PS21/3, DORA, Third-Party Risk, Critical Third Party CP22/3 regulation and related Operational Resiliency context.
  • Excellent partner management and interpersonal abilities
  • Developing and maintaining a regular set of artefacts, processes and procedures.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects in a fast-paced changing environment.
  • Flexible work approach and be able to work to agreed timelines

Proficient in MS Office products. Knowledge of LeanIX, IBM Blueworks, ServiceNow, Collibra is desirable.
