Job Description:
As a Senior Data Scientist at PwC India, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of the
pharmaceutical and healthcare sectors by leveraging data and analytics. We are looking for a talented
individual with 5-8 years of hands-on experience (3 years with a PhD) in the pharma and/or healthcare
industry to drive data-driven decision-making and innovation.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Data Analysis and Modeling: Lead data analysis efforts to extract meaningful insights from
complex healthcare and pharmaceutical data. Develop predictive and prescriptive models to
drive informed decision-making.
2. Predictive Modeling: Develop advanced predictive models to support pharmaceutical research
and development. Utilize machine learning and statistical techniques to optimize drug discovery,
patient outcomes, and healthcare operations.
3. Regulatory Compliance: Stay updated on the latest regulatory guidelines and industry standards
in the pharmaceutical sector. Ensure compliance with data handling, privacy, and reporting
requirements.
4. Market Access and Commercialization: Analyze market data, payer information, and patient
demographics to assist pharmaceutical companies in product pricing, market access strategy,
and commercialization planning.
5. Real-World Evidence (RWE): Utilize real-world data sources to generate valuable RWE for drug
effectiveness, patient outcomes, and healthcare utilization, with a focus on improving patient
6. Collaboration: Collaborate closely with clients to understand their unique challenges and
objectives. Translate data insights into actionable strategies and provide expert guidance.
7. Data Visualization: Create compelling data visualizations and dashboards to effectively
communicate findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
8. Research and Innovation: Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and data
science best practices. Drive innovation and thought leadership within the team.
Qualifications:
 A strong understanding of industry-specific data and challenges.
 Proficiency in data analysis tools and programming languages such as Python or R and their
corresponding distributed frameworks, such as PySpark.
 Experience with statistical modeling, machine learning and deep learning
 Experience in cloud platforms like Azure, AWS or GCP.
 Familiarity with healthcare/pharma data sources and databases (e.g., electronic health records,
clinical trial data).
 Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically.

 Excellent communication skills to convey complex findings to non-technical stakeholders.
 Prior experience with drug discovery or clinical trial optimization is a plus.
 Gen AI experience is a plus.
