Role Overview

This is a government-facing business development role focused primarily on opening doors, building strategic access, and strengthening Inflects presence within government ecosystems. The Senior Associate, Government Affairs and Strategic Partnerships, will drive engagement with ministries, state governments, political offices, and senior bureaucratic stakeholders to position Inflects diagnostic frameworks as trusted tools for policymaking and implementation reform.

The role goes beyond traditional business development. It requires strong government affairs experience, an understanding of how policy decisions are shaped, and the ability to navigate complex institutional environments with political sensitivity and strategic judgement.

Core Mandate

Your primary responsibility is to create and expand pathways into government systems, that is, enabling Inflect to initiate conversations, secure high-level meetings, and build sustained partnerships with policymakers and administrators.

• Build and maintain relationships with ministries, state departments, political leadership, and senior bureaucrats across India.
• Identify decision-makers, policy champions, and institutional entry points relevant to Inflects work.
• Facilitate introductions, meetings, and strategic engagements that position Inflect as a credible upstream partner.
• Navigate political and administrative hierarchies with discretion and contextual awareness.

2. Strategic Outreach & Relationship Management

• Develop structured engagement strategies for key states and ministries aligned with Inflects thematic priorities.
• Maintain ongoing communication with government stakeholders through briefings, follow-ups, and curated insights.
• Represent Inflect in government consultations, policy discussions, and institutional forums where appropriate.

3. Opportunity Origination & Pipeline Development

• Track government priorities, budget allocations, policy announcements, and administrative shifts to identify entry points for collaboration.
• Surface opportunities for diagnostics, pilots, or advisory engagements across sectors such as climate adaptation, governance reform, and regulatory intelligence.
• Work closely with the Founder to convert institutional relationships into structured project opportunities.

4. Proposal Positioning & Political-Economy Framing

• Collaborate with research teams to translate technical diagnostics into narratives that resonate with policymakers.
• Support the framing of pitches that align with administrative priorities, political realities, and implementation constraints.
• Provide contextual insight into stakeholder motivations, institutional incentives, and policy risks.

5. Ecosystem Intelligence & Strategic Insight

• Map the evolving government affairs landscape, including key actors, advisory ecosystems, and consulting competitors.
• Monitor shifts in political priorities, bureaucratic leadership, and regulatory trends that may influence Inflects engagement strategy.
• Contribute to shaping Inflects long-term government engagement model.

• 57 years of experience in government affairs, public sector engagement, political advisory, policy consulting, or institutional partnerships.
• Demonstrated ability to build relationships with ministries, political offices, or senior administrative stakeholders.
• Strong understanding of Indias governance structures, bureaucratic processes, and political economy dynamics.

• Strategic thinker with the ability to anticipate institutional needs and align messaging accordingly.
• Strong written and verbal communication, particularly in policy-facing environments.
• High discretion, professional maturity, and comfort engaging senior leadership.

Preferred Background

• Experience working in or closely with government institutions, political offices, consulting firms, or policy think tanks.
• Academic background in public policy, economics, law, political science, governance, or related fields.
• Existing networks within government or regulatory ecosystems will be a strong advantage.
