Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Infra. Technology Specialist with 8 to 10 years of experience in DB2 on z/OS and IMS DB system DBA. The ideal candidate will work in a hybrid model with rotational shifts. This role does not require travel. The candidate will be responsible for managing and optimizing our database systems to ensure high performance and reliability.


Responsibilities

  • Manage and optimize DB2 on z/OS and IMS DB systems to ensure high performance and reliability.
  • Oversee database configurations installations and upgrades to maintain system integrity.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for database-related issues to minimize downtime.
  • Implement and maintain database security measures to protect sensitive data.
  • Monitor database performance and implement tuning strategies to enhance efficiency.
  • Develop and maintain backup and recovery procedures to ensure data availability.
  • Collaborate with application developers to design and implement database solutions that meet business requirements.
  • Conduct regular audits and assessments to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for database configurations procedures and policies.
  • Participate in capacity planning and forecasting to ensure database systems can handle future growth.
  • Provide training and guidance to junior DBAs and other team members to enhance their skills.
  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies to continuously improve database management practices.
  • Work in rotational shifts to provide 24/7 support for critical database systems.

  • Possess extensive experience in managing DB2 on z/OS and IMS DB systems.
  • Demonstrate strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills for database-related issues.
  • Have a solid understanding of database security measures and best practices.
  • Show proficiency in performance tuning and optimization techniques for databases.
  • Exhibit excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Display the ability to create and maintain detailed documentation for database systems.
  • Have experience in capacity planning and forecasting for database systems.
  • Be capable of providing training and mentorship to junior team members.
  • Stay current with industry trends and advancements in database technologies.
  • Be able to work in rotational shifts to ensure continuous support for database systems.
