Dh-May is a seasonless apparel label by Craft Boat, rooted in textiles, material exploration, and craft-based design. Our collections emerge from close collaboration with artisan families across India, integrating hand processes such as block printing, natural dyeing, weaving, and surface techniques into contemporary silhouettes..

As we grow, we are looking for a Senior Apparel Designer who can lead the creative direction of collections while working closely with our artisan teams and in-house production unit.

This is a leadership role for someone who understands garments from concept to construction, with a strong sensitivity to textiles and craft processes.

You will be responsible for developing seasonal and core collections, guiding sampling, mentoring junior designers, and helping translate Dh-Mays design philosophy into a cohesive and evolving apparel language.

The role requires both creative vision and execution discipline.

• Lead concept development for Dh-May collections (silhouettes, textiles, colors, details).
• Design seasonless garments aligned with the brands aesthetic and philosophy.
• Develop mood boards, research references, and material explorations.
• Create original prints and textile directions in collaboration with artisans.
• Ensure strong continuity and recognisable brand language across collections.

• Oversee pattern development, fittings, and garment construction..
• Develop detailed tech packs and specifications for production.
• Ensure quality, proportion, and finishing meet premium standards.

• Collaborate with block printers, dyers, embroiderers, and weavers.
• Translate traditional techniques into contemporary applications.
• Innovate with materials while respecting craft integrity.

• Mentor and guide junior designers and sampling coordinators.
• Build structured workflows for design development and approvals.
• Support skill development within artisan and production teams.

• Work with the production team to ensure designs are feasible and scalable.
• Monitor sampling timelines and production readiness.
• Maintain consistency across batches.

We are looking for someone who brings both design maturity and humility toward craft.

• 610+ years experience in apparel design (preferably premium / contemporary / slow fashion).
• Strong understanding of garment construction and pattern making.
• Experience working with natural fabrics and handcrafted textiles is highly preferred.
• Ability to translate concepts into production-ready garments.
• Strong aesthetic sensibility aligned with minimal, textile-led design.
• Leadership experience managing teams or projects.
• Detail-oriented with strong quality standards.
• Comfortable working in a hands-on studio environment.
