About the Role:

Position Title: FCOE Sanctions Programs

Reporting to: Vice President, Sanctions Programs

Job Profile:

Purpose of Role:

The Sanctions Program Team is responsible for the effective running of the Sanctions Program across all jurisdictions within EMEA. The team ensure the robust management of the broader Sanctions Control Framework, in support of this they provide oversight, SME knowledge and support to other Sanctions Teams.


Main Responsibilities:

  • Support the Sanctions Programs Team with Sanctions regulatory oversight and work required to ensure continued regional compliance with sanctions and the Sanctions Policy and Governance framework. This will involve supporting the onshore Sanctions Programs Team members to document updates to sanctions regimes (following horizon scanning), participating in undertaking impact assessments, supporting with review and proposed updates to operating manuals and tracking related progress across the region.
  • The role holder will be required to search the EMEA customer base to ensure that, in compliance with new SEPA Instant Payment regulations, the EMEA customer base is checked immediately after new designations are announced by regulators, relevant to EMEA.
  • These resources will also be responsible for instructing restrictions on customer accounts, to certain payment types.
  • Undertake List Management activities in accordance with Global Standards.
  • Ensuring list updates are completed in timely manner and any issues are resolved with agreed processes and escalated in line with Global Policies and Procedures.
  • Undertake Good guy reviews and updates on behalf of the region, across all applicable screening systems
  • Maintain and review the watchlist matrix/landscape for EMEA, across all applicable screening systems

Education & professional qualifications:

  • BA/BS Degree or relevant qualification is required.
  • 5-7 years of experience in Financial Crime function.
  • Experience with good knowledge of banking and Sanctions controls for financial crime.
