Senior AI Product & Research Engineer

Our client is a leading global financial services firm providing a wide range of investment banking, securities, investment management and wealth management services. We are looking for a Senior AI Product & Research Engineer who can bridge applied research with enterprise product delivery. This role involves designing, prototyping, and scaling advanced AI solutions, including LLMs, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), and agentic systems, from proof-of-concept to production deployment. You will define frameworks for evaluation, safety, and observability, ensuring responsible and reliable AI adoption in enterprise environments.

Some of the key responsibilities will include:

• Design and prototype enterprise AI products leveraging LLMs, RAG pipelines, and agentic architectures.
• Scale AI solutions from POC to production, ensuring performance, reliability, and compliance.
• Define evaluation frameworks for accuracy, robustness, and fairness of AI models.
• Implement safety and observability systems to monitor AI behaviour in production.
• Collaborate with product managers, researchers, and engineers to translate research into business-ready solutions.
• Contribute to applied research in generative AI, retrieval systems, and autonomous agents.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership in AI product development.

To be eligible for this role you will require:

• Senior hands-on AI engineer combining applied research and product delivery.
• Designs, prototypes, and scales enterprise AI products.
• Builds LLM, RAG, and agentic systems from POC to production.
• Defines evaluation, safety, and observability frameworks.
• Strong Python skills and real-world use of AI coding agents.
• 8 to 12 plus years' experience shipping AI systems in enterprise setting.
