Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior AI Architect to lead enterprise AI initiatives and design scalable architectures across traditional Machine Learning, NLP, Generative AI, Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG), and Multi-Agent Systems.

This role requires deep technical expertise along with strong healthcare domain knowledge and experience building production-grade AI systems at scale. The ideal candidate will drive architecture strategy, guide engineering teams, and ensure responsible and compliant AI deployment across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

Architecture & Design

• Define end-to-end architecture for AI/ML and Generative AI systems.

• Design Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines, vector database strategies, and LLM orchestration frameworks.

• Architect multi-agent workflows, tool-calling agents, and reasoning chains.

• Translate complex healthcare business requirements into scalable, secure AI solutions.

• Establish architectural best practices for enterprise AI platforms.

Data & Pipeline Engineering

• Architect event-driven and incremental data pipelines for structured and unstructured healthcare datasets.

• Oversee embedding generation, feature pipelines, data quality monitoring, and governance frameworks.

• Design scalable data architectures supporting large-scale AI and analytics workloads.

MLOps & LLMOps

• Establish CI/CD pipelines for ML and LLM workloads.

• Implement model monitoring, evaluation frameworks, guardrails, lineage tracking, and rollback strategies.

• Ensure secure and scalable AI deployment across cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).

• Optimize infrastructure for performance, scalability, and reliability.

Leadership & Collaboration

• Provide technical leadership and architectural direction to engineering teams.

• Mentor developers and resolve architectural bottlenecks.

• Collaborate with product leaders, business teams, and clinical SMEs to align AI solutions with business goals.

• Clearly communicate architecture decisions and system designs to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Compliance & Responsible AI

• Ensure adherence to privacy, security, and regulatory standards such as HIPAA, PHI, and PII.

• Implement responsible AI frameworks, model guardrails, and safe deployment practices.

• Maintain compliance with enterprise data governance policies.

Required Qualifications

• 1018+ years of total experience, including 5+ years as an AI/ML Architect.

• Strong expertise in Large Language Models (LLMs), Generative AI, RAG pipelines, embeddings, and vector databases.

• Hands-on experience with ML frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow.

• Experience with AI orchestration tools like LangChain, LlamaIndex, or Semantic Kernel.

• Strong cloud architecture experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.

• Deep understanding of healthcare data systems, including claims, EDI, clinical documentation, and payer/provider workflows.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience working with Optum or UHG/UHC ecosystems.

• Experience building multi-agent AI systems and long-context LLM architectures.

• Hands-on experience with high-volume document AI processing systems.

• Proven experience integrating ML, NLP, and LLM systems into large-scale production applications.
