Role Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Microsoft Active Directory (AD) Specialist to assist with implementation, migration, and maintenance enterprise-level hybrid identity (AD + Azure AD / Entra ID) environments. The ideal candidate should have deep understanding in AD architecture, troubleshooting complex issues, and ensuring secure, scalable directory services for on-premises, cloud, and hybrid environments, while driving modernization, security hardening, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administration of Active Directory Service:
- Install, configure, and optimize AD Domain Services, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policies.
- Assist in design, implement, and maintain hybrid identity integrations between AD and Azure AD / Entra ID.
- Configure and optimize Azure AD Connect / Entra Connect - synchronization rules, provisioning flows, and cloud sync.
- Integrate AD with other identity and access management solutions.
- Execute AD migrations, upgrades, and restructuring projects.
- Support & Troubleshooting:
- Diagnose and resolve complex AD replication, authentication, and trust issues.
- Provide L3 ownership for complex escalations involving AD, Azure AD, hybrid sync, authentication failures, and identity-related outages and service requests.
- Troubleshoot issues related to domain controllers, AD replication, DNS, group policies, conditional access, MFA, SSO, and federation.
- Assist in performing root-cause analysis (RCA) for major incidents, drive corrective actions, and prevent recurrence.
- Security & Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with organizational and regulatory standards.
- Implement and maintain identity security controls including privileged access management, service account governance, conditional access policies, and Zero Trust principles.
- Support compliance with audit requirements, access reviews, and identity governance workflows.
- Remediation of identity risks such as misconfigured service accounts, outdated protocols, and identity drift.
- Automation & Optimization:
- Identify opportunities to automate manual processes via PowerShell, Graph API, or identity governance tools.
- Optimize AD performance and scalability.
- Drive migrations from legacy authentication methods to modern protocols.
- Support adoption of Entra ID features such as PIM, Identity Protection, Access Packages.

Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Technical Expertise:
- 6+ years of experience with Microsoft Active Directory architecture and administration.
- Strong expertise in Azure AD / Entra ID, including hybrid identity, conditional access, MFA, SSO, and identity governance.
- Knowledge of AD DS, DNS, Group Policy, Kerberos/NTLM, LDAP, and authentication flows.
- Hands-on experience with Azure AD Connect / Cloud Sync / Entra Connect.
- Strong scripting experience (PowerShell required; Graph API preferred).
- Deep troubleshooting skills across identity, networking, and authentication layers.
- Prior experience with AD migrations, forest/domain restructuring, and hybrid environments (Azure AD).
- Good understanding on Azure and AWS Cloud platforms.
- Security & Governance:
- Familiarity with AD hardening, RBAC, and identity lifecycle management.
- Experience implementing MFA, conditional access, and integration with security tools.
- Soft Skills:
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and documentation abilities.
- Ability to drive complex technical issues to closure with minimal guidance.
Preferred Certifications:
- Microsoft Certified: Identity and Access Administrator Associate
- ITIL Foundation (Good to have)
