Senior Accounting Business Analyst

As a Senior Accounting Business Analyst, we expect you to collaborate directly with client accounting teams including Controllers, Finance Directors, and CFOs to unlock requirements, optimize processes, and translate business needs into powerful system functionality. Youll be at the heart of helping insurance organizations modernize how they operate across accounting, billing, payments, and financial reporting.

Experience Band: 3-5+ Years

Role and Responsibilities:

• Engage directly with accounting stakeholders across all levels, including CFOs, to elicit and validate insurance and operating accounting requirements.
• Translate complex business and accounting needs into clear user stories, functional specifications, and process flows.
• Support implementations and enhancements for ConceptOne, Sure MGA, and related insurance accounting, billing, and financial platforms.
• Partner closely with technical teams across the full SDLC: design, development, testing, and deployment.
• Analyze current-state workflows and identify opportunities for automation, standardization, and operational excellence.
• Support data validation, reconciliation activities, and user acceptance testing (UAT).
• Facilitate workshops, requirement sessions, training meetings, and stakeholder discussions.
• Ensure solutions align with accounting standards, regulatory needs, and client-specific business rules.
• Contribute to client documentation, training, and knowledge transfer.
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• 35+ years of experience as a Business Analyst within accounting, insurance, or financial services.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles; insurance accounting experience is a big plus.
• Hands-on experience with financial systems, insurance platforms, policy administration, or billing/payment systems.
• A proven track record of gathering, documenting, and communicating complex business and system requirements.
• Familiarity with Agile or hybrid delivery methodologies.
• Comfort working directly with CFOs and senior accounting leadership to define operational needs.
• Proficiency with Jira, Confluence, Lucidchart, Smartsheet, or similar workflow/documentation tools.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.

Nice to Have:

• Experience with insurance platforms such as ConceptOne, Sure MGA, or other MGA/TPA solutions.
• Prior consulting experience with external clients.
• Exposure to integrations, APIs, or data workflows connecting financial systems.
• Experience supporting UAT, reconciliations, and postproduction stabilization.
