Senior Accountant

Role Overview: Acting as quality layer and final point of authority, ensuring systematic review quality and regulatory compliance. Review junior staff work, manage high-risk tasks, and provide ad-hoc advisory services to clients

Key Responsibilities:

• Review & Sign-Off: Review prepared work against source data, verify calculations, and take professional responsibility by providing final sign-off on higher-risk work
• Quality Control: Review bookkeeping for coding accuracy, check VAT returns for common errors (e.g., incorrect rates, partial exemption), and approve self-assessment tax returns before client submission
• Statutory Compliance: Provide second-pair-of-eyes and partner sign-off on annual accounts before sending them to directors for signature. Ensure no statutory deadlines are missed
• AML & Onboarding: Oversee Customer Due Diligence (CDD), risk assessments, and provide MLRO sign-off for new client acceptance. Handle professional clearance requests and draft formal engagement letters
• Advisory Services: Deliver ad-hoc advisory support, including tax planning, business structuring, and R&D claims
