Job Description

Job Responsibilities - Accountant

1. Bookkeeping & Accounting

  • Maintain daily accounting records in accounting software (Tally).
  • Record sales, purchases, expenses, receipts, and payments.
  • Maintain general ledger, journal entries, and trial balance.
  • Perform bank reconciliation statements (BRS).
  • Maintain petty cash and cash flow records.


2. GST Compliance

  • Prepare and file GST returns (GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, etc.).
  • Reconcile input tax credit (ITC) with purchase records.
  • Maintain GST-related documentation and compliance.
  • Coordinate with vendors for GST compliance and corrections.


3. Statutory Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with Income Tax, TDS, PF, ESIC, and Professional Tax.
  • Deduct and deposit TDS and file TDS returns.
  • Assist with annual financial statements and tax filings.
  • Maintain records required for audits and regulatory filings.


4. Financial Reporting

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
  • Generate reports like:
  • Profit & Loss Statement
  • Balance Sheet
  • Cash Flow Statement
  • Provide financial insights to founders for decision making.


5. Accounts Payable & Receivable

  • Manage vendor payments and invoices.
  • Track customer invoices and collections.
  • Follow up on outstanding receivables.
  • Maintain aging reports.


6. Payroll Processing

  • Process employee payroll.
  • Handle salary structure, reimbursements, and deductions.
  • Ensure PF, ESIC, and TDS compliance.
  • Generate salary slips and payroll reports.


7. Budgeting & Cash Flow Management

  • Track company expenses vs budget.
  • Monitor cash flow and liquidity.
  • Assist founders in financial planning and cost control.


8. Audit Support

  • Coordinate with CA and auditors during:
  • Statutory audit
  • Internal audit
  • GST audit
  • Prepare required financial documents and reconciliations.


9. Financial Documentation & Record Keeping

  • Maintain invoices, bills, contracts, and financial records.
  • Organize documents for tax and regulatory compliance.
  • Ensure proper data backup and documentation system.
