Job Description

Job Summary

We are looking for a Senior 3D Character Artist with strong experience in creating stylised 3D characters for mobile games. The ideal candidate is highly skilled in both modeling and texturing, comfortable working across multiple art styles, and capable of taking characters from concept to game-ready, in-engine assets.

This role requires close collaboration with rigging, animation, and technical teams, as well as a strong understanding of stylised character pipelines and performance constraints for mobile platforms.


What will you do

  1. Create high-quality 3D characters optimized for mobile games
  2. Work across diverse art styles including stylised, cartoony, and semi-realistic
  3. Own the full character workflow from high-poly sculpt to final in-game asset
  4. Perform organic and hard-surface modeling as required
  5. Create stylised and hand-painted textures that prioritize readability and artistic control
  6. Use Substance Painter, Photoshop, and/or ZBrush polypaint effectively for texturing
  7. Work with custom or simplified shaders rather than full PBR where required
  8. Collaborate closely with rigging and animation teams to ensure clean topology and deformation
  9. Import, set up, and test characters in game engines (Unity and/or Unreal)
  10. Optimize characters for performance, memory, and mobile hardware limitations
  11. Maintain visual consistency with project art direction and style guides
  12. Mentor junior artists and provide feedback on character quality and workflows


What are we looking for

  1. Strong expertise in 3D character modeling and texturing
  2. Advanced proficiency in ZBrush for sculpting
  3. Strong command of Substance Painter for texture creation
  4. Excellent hand-painted texturing skills, with the ability to create stylised, readable textures using color, gradients, and painted lighting
  5. Solid understanding of game-ready topology, UVs, baking, and LODs
  6. Experience working within stylised or non-photoreal character pipelines
  7. Understanding of PBR workflows, with the ability to adapt assets for simplified or custom stylised shaders
  8. Experience collaborating with rigging and animation teams
  9. Working knowledge of Unity and/or Unreal Engine character setup
  10. Strong artistic fundamentals: anatomy, proportions, silhouette, and material definition
