SDE 2 - Integration

About the Role

Zime AI is building an AI-native behaviour and revenue intelligence platform powering real-time

sales playbooks, conversation intelligence, and workflow automation used by revenue teams at

scale.

Were looking for an SDE-2 (Integration Pod) to build and own mission-critical integrations

across CRM systems, call recording platforms, calendars, and third-party SaaS tools. Youll

design scalable backend services, async data pipelines, and reliable integration frameworks

that power real-time product workflows.

This is a high-ownership backend role focused on production-grade integrations, data sync

systems, and enterprise-grade reliability.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and build third-party integrations including CRM, Call Recording, Calendar and
• external SaaS APIs
• Develop backend integration services using Java (primary) and Node.js / NestJS
• (secondary)
• Implement scalable async processing pipelines using queues, workers, and scheduled
• jobs.
• Build secure integration flows with external authentication providers (OAuth
• integrations)
• Design robust data sync pipelines between external platforms and internal systems
• Build resilient API layers with retry logic, rate limiting, webhook handling, and failure
• recovery
• Maintain SQL schemas and data ingestion workflows
• Monitor integration health, performance, and production incidents
• Collaborate with frontend teams using React / Next.js for integration workflows
• Contribute to platform architecture and reusable integration frameworks

What You Will Do Day-to-Day

• Build and maintain CRM, Call Recording, and Calendar integrations
• Implement background workers for sync jobs, retries, and scheduled ingestion
• Develop REST APIs and event-driven workflows
• Debug API inconsistencies and external platform failures
• Monitor queues, async jobs, and data pipelines in production
• Build webhook processors and event ingestion systems
• Write migration scripts and reconciliation tools for integration data
• Collaborate with product and customer teams on new integration requirements
• Participate in code reviews, sprint planning, and technical discussions

Requirements (Non-Negotiable)

• 3+ years of backend software engineering experience
• Strong backend development skills in Java (primary language)
• Working experience with Node.js / NestJS as a secondary stack
• Hands-on experience building third-party or data integrations
• Experience integrating Call Recording, CRM, Calendar, or SaaS APIs
• Strong SQL skills and experience with relational data modeling
• Experience implementing background processing systems (queues, workers, async
• jobs)
• Understanding of OAuth, SSO, and external auth integrations (integration usage, not
• auth platform building)
• Strong REST API design and production debugging skills
• Ability to own features end-to-end with production accountability

Good to Have

• Experience with webhook-driven and event-based architectures
• Experience with message brokers (Kafka, RabbitMQ, etc.)
• Exposure to React / Next.js for integration UI workflows
• Experience with Elasticsearch or indexing pipelines
• Familiarity with Keycloak or enterprise identity providers
• Experience with CRM platforms (Salesforce, HubSpot)
• Experience integrating call recording platforms (Zoom, Gong, Recall, etc.)
• Exposure to Ruby-based legacy integration systems
• Startup or high-ownership product engineering experience
