SDE 2 - Application

Zime AI is building an AI-native behaviour and revenue intelligence platform powering real-time sales playbooks, conversation intelligence, call intelligence, and workflow automation used by revenue teams at scale.

Were looking for a strong SDE-2 to build and own high-impact product features and backend systems. Youll work on AI-powered application workflows, scalable APIs, modern frontend experiences, and mission-critical external integrations that power enterprise customer use cases.

This is a high-ownership role where you will design, build, and ship production-grade systems end-to-end.

• Design and build scalable product features using Node.js / NestJS, TypeScript, and modern frontend frameworks (React.js / Next.js)
• Develop AI-enabled workflows using Python services and modern AI libraries
• Build and optimize REST APIs powering core product capabilities
• Implement async systems (queues, workers, background jobs) for real-time processing
• Develop third-party integrations (CRM, Call Recording, Calendar, Auth providers, SaaS APIs)
• Implement secure OAuth / SSO-based external authentication integrations
• Design robust SQL-backed data models and ingestion pipelines
• Improve system reliability, observability, and performance in production
• Own features end-to-endfrom design to deployment and monitoring

• Build backend services primarily using Node.js / NestJS and TypeScript
• Develop product-facing APIs and AI-powered workflows
• Contribute to React / Next.js-based UI features using modern UI tools
• Build Python-based services for AI-enabled capabilities where needed
• Implement and maintain async processing systems and job queues
• Develop and maintain integrations with CRM, call recording, and other SaaS platforms
• Debug production issues across application and integration layers
• Participate in code reviews, sprint planning, and architectural discussions
• Ship production-ready features with strong ownership

• 3+ years of software engineering experience
• Strong backend development experience in Node.js (NestJS preferred) with TypeScript
• Experience building modern frontend applications using React.js or Next.js
• Experience building production-grade REST APIs
• Experience working with SQL databases
• Experience with async/background processing systems (queues, workers, scheduled jobs)
• Understanding of OAuth, SSO, and external authentication integrations
• Experience building scalable backend systems and/or third-party integrations
• Strong debugging skills and production ownership mindset

• Experience with Python for backend or AI-enabled services
• Experience working with modern AI libraries, LLM APIs, or AI-driven workflows
• Experience building third-party integrations (CRM, call recording, SaaS platforms)
• Experience handling webhook/event-driven architectures
• Familiarity with message brokers (Kafka, SQS, RabbitMQ, BullMQ, etc.)
• Experience with Java-based backend systems
• Exposure to Elasticsearch or large-scale data indexing
• Startup or high-ownership product engineering experience
