A reputed CBSE school in South West Delhi is looking to onboard a dedicated and empatheticSchool Counsellorto support the emotional, social, and psychological well-being of students. This role is ideal for a professional passionate about student mental health and committed to fostering a safe, inclusive, and supportive school environment.
The School Counsellor will be responsible for providing comprehensive socio-emotional and psychological support to students across age groups. The role focuses on early identification of concerns, delivering individual and group counselling, and collaborating with teachers and parents to ensure holistic student development in line with CBSE guidelines.
- Promote students mental health and emotional well-being through preventive and supportive interventions
- Provide individual, group, and confidential counselling for academic stress, behavioural concerns, peer relationships, and personal development
- Act as a liaison between students, parents, and teachers to support overall student growth
- Implement and monitor anti-bullying initiatives and well-being programmes
- Conduct mental health awareness sessions, workshops, and preventive education programmes
- Carry out psychosocial assessments and maintain confidential case records
- Support crisis intervention and manage sensitive student situations with professionalism and care
- Conduct mental health audits and recommend targeted interventions
- Collaborate with school leadership to create a safe, inclusive, and emotionally supportive environment
- Participate in parent interactions, case conferences, and professional development programmes
- Masters or Bachelors degree in Psychology (Clinical, Counselling, Applied, or Educational) or Masters in Social Work (Mental Health/Counselling)
- Alternative qualification: Graduate or postgraduate degree in any discipline with a diploma in School Counselling, Child Guidance, or Career Counselling
- Completion of minimum 50 hours of CBSE-approved training in psychosocial counselling, crisis intervention, and confidentiality
- Minimum 10 years of experience working as a School Counsellor in a reputed school environment
- Strong understanding of child and adolescent mental health, behavioural issues, and developmental needs
- Excellent communication, empathy, and interpersonal skills
- High degree of discretion, ethical conduct, and problem-solving ability
