Job Overview:
To ensures the stable, efficient and high-quality operation as well as the further development of the company's SAP system landscape.
The team provides services in three clearly defined work contexts:
Support & Operations
Development in agile product teams
Development within the framework of projects.
The holder of the position bears disciplinary management responsibility and responsible for service quality, delivery capability, capacities, processes and employee development, and ensures smooth cooperation with the product owners and project managers, who are currently mainly based in Germany.
Key Role:
- 8-10 years of experience in disciplinary leadership of international teams
- Experience in working with professionally controlling roles without direct authority to issue instructions
Disciplinary Leadership & Personnel Responsibility:
- Disciplinary management of the employees of the SAP team (approx. 15 FTE)
- Employee development, target agreements and performance reviews.
- Capacity and deployment planning across support, product teams, and projects
- Recruiting, onboarding and knowledge building
- Skill and succession planning (modules, ABAP, SAP Basis)
- Promotion of a professional service, quality and ownership culture.
- Ensuring a sustainable workload (shift models, on-call duty, peak loads)
Management of service provision (delivery responsibility)
Provision of suitable team members
Ensuring the ability of teams to deliver within agile working methods (e.g. Scrum, Kanban).
Delimitation of responsibilities:
- Technical management (backlog, prioritization, technical acceptance) is carried out by product owners
Disciplinary leadership, capacity management and further development are the responsibility of the team leader
- Support of the Product Owners by Transparent capacity planning.
- Ensuring methodological and technical standards
- Conflict and escalation management
- Provision and management of SAP resources for projects
- Ensuring project cooperation in compliance with (Time, quality and resource framework)
- Architecture, development, and operational standards
- Cooperation with project managers (HQ) regarding Resource planning, Dependences between projects and product teams.
- Handover to operation and support (Hypercare)
Interface and coordination function
- Central interface between SAP Corporate Service Center India, Central SAP Department / IT (Germany)
- Product owners, project managers and, if necessary, external service providers
- Ensure effective collaboration across country and time zones
- Regular status and KPI reports to management at HQ
- Moderation of conflicting goals between support, product teams and projects
Governance, Processes & Quality
- Ensuring compliance with SAP Architecture and Development Guidelines, Security, Compliance, and Audit Requirements
- Documentation and quality standards Responsibility for Change and release management (in coordination with product owners/projects), Transport and deployment processes, Knowledge management and documentation
- Continuous improvement of processes, tools and ways of working.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or related fields; a relevant certification in SAP would be a plus
- 10 Years Experience in business process optimization and the ability to align technical solutions with organizational goals
- Proven team management and team leadership skills, including the ability to guide, mentor, and motivate teams
- Proficiency in consulting skills to assess organizational needs and deliver customized solutions
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with stakeholders and team members
- Prior experience in a leadership role within SAP project implementation or support is preferred
