SAP PPDS Consultant

Role Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled SAP EPPDS (Enhanced Production Planning and Detailed Scheduling) Consultant to support complex production planning initiatives within process manufacturing environments , particularly liquid manufacturing and tank planning .

The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on expertise in SAP PPDS heuristics , master data management , and end-to-end PPDS solution delivery . This role requires the ability to work independently, manage complex planning scenarios, and deliver optimized production planning solutions aligned with business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

PPDS Solution Design & Configuration

• Analyze and translate business requirements related to Production Planning and Detailed Scheduling (PPDS) within process manufacturing environments , with a strong focus on liquid manufacturing and tank-based planning
• Design, configure, and deploy SAP PPDS heuristics , including both standard and custom heuristics such as PP_002 and advanced rescheduling heuristics
• Build, configure, and optimize PPDS Master Data , including:
• Resources and handling resources
• Production Data Structures (PDS)
• Products and Bills of Materials (BOMs)
• Master Recipes for process manufacturing
• Configure and manage Master Recipes to support batch-oriented and process-driven production scenarios
• Implement, customize, and optimize PPDS Scheduling Boards to address complex production constraints, sequencing rules, and capacity limitations

Operational Support & Planning Optimization:

• Provide functional expertise in batch management across the full planning and execution lifecycle
• Configure and manage handling resources for process manufacturing, including tanks, batch processing units, and intermediate storage
• Perform and optimize tank planning , capacity leveling, and constraint-based scheduling in PPDS
• Analyze, troubleshoot, and fine-tune rescheduling, realignment, and exception-handling scenarios within SAP PPDS
• Ensure stable, efficient, and optimized planning results aligned with operational and business objectives

End-to-End Process Consulting & Stakeholder Collaboration:

• Map, analyze, and optimize end-to-end business processes in liquid manufacturing , covering:
• Material and batch flow
• Tank utilization and sequencing
• Inventory and capacity optimization
• Work closely with business stakeholders and IT teams to convert functional requirements into scalable PPDS system solutions
• Support UAT, cutover planning, and go-live activities , ensuring smooth deployment and adoption
• Mentor junior consultants and provide functional guidance and training on SAP PPDS concepts, configuration, and best practices

Required Qualifications & Skills:

• 46 years of hands-on experience in SAP PPDS / EPPDS
• Strong expertise in PPDS heuristics and scheduling optimization
• Solid understanding of process manufacturing , especially liquid manufacturing and tank planning
• In-depth knowledge of PPDS master data and master recipe configuration
• Ability to work independently in complex and dynamic project environments
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder communication skills
