The PSP's primary function is to apply the VPS / Continuous Improvement principles and tools to improve all processes. This must include injury reduction, waste reduction (including downtime), problem-solving, cycle time improvements, production launch, etc.
General: PSP is responsible for the process and reports to a selected Section Manager.
Acting as an expert/advisor for continuous improvement.
Candidates should be able to use: lean tools and methods (six sigma, green/black belt), problem-solving skills, documentation, KPIs, process observations and LOP / EFQM Result & Enablers, CIPS, 6S, Waste / Non-Value, Cycle Times and Studies, Planning, and Launch, process engineering, efficiency projects, waste reduction, bottleneck analysis, Kaizen and process optimization.
Actively participates within the project organization to develop a functional and economical production process.
Implements strategic targets in the production process about new technologies, innovations, and business optimizations.
Assesses, investigates, and validates product development concepts.
Administrates special projects under the assignment guidelines.
Analyzes facility cycle time and availability to include Model & option variants, including short term actions to improve stability and reliability and long term plans to eliminate issues.
Steers Operator work standard, area layout, productivity improvements & idea-sharing.
Facilitates Value Stream Analysis.
Interacts with Production Associates for improvement of current and implementation of new processes.
Implement product change across ALL shifts and provide feedback to management.
Supports the shop floor to identify proper technique and bottlenecking.
Creates updates, and maintains documentation and layouts.
Interfaces and implement lessons learned from previous production phases.
Performs other duties as assigned by the operations supervisor.
