About the Role

The SAP EAM Manager is responsible for designing, configuring, implementing, and supporting SAP Enterprise Asset Management (Plant Maintenance) solutions. This role ensures effective asset lifecycle management, maintenance planning, work order execution, reliability processes, and smooth integration with procurement, warehouse, and production systems.

Key Responsibilities

1. Functional Design & Configuration

Lead requirement-gathering workshops for maintenance and asset management processes.

Configure EAM/PM functionalities including:

o Equipment & Functional Locations

o Maintenance Notifications

o Work Orders (Corrective, Preventive, Breakdown, Shutdown)

o Task Lists & Maintenance Plans

o Measurement Points & Counters

o Refurbishment & Spare Parts Repairs

o Bills of Material (Equipment & Functional Location BOM)

Develop and document detailed functional specifications (FS) for enhancements.

2. Asset & Maintenance Lifecycle Processes

Implement Preventive, Predictive, and Corrective maintenance programs.

Optimize maintenance schedules and improve compliance metrics (MTTR, MTBF).

Support reliability and root-cause analysis initiatives.

Drive digital maintenance adoption through Fiori applications and mobile solutions.

3. Integration

Integrate SAP EAM with SAP MM (procurement), Inventory (WM/EWM), FI/CO, PS, PP, and Quality Management.

Work with technical teams for interfaces involving IDocs, BAPIs, Web Services, and IoT/Industry 4.0 platforms.

Coordinate with automation/GIS/mobile solution vendors (if applicable).

4. Testing, Deployment & Support

Create test scripts and conduct Unit Testing, SIT, and UAT.

Lead data migration activities for EAM master data and transactional data.

Support cutover planning, go-live execution, and hypercare.

Provide Level 2/3 production support and continuous process optimization.

5. Training & Documentation

Prepare end-user training materials, SOPs, and process documentation.

Conduct training sessions for maintenance planners, technicians, and operations teams.

Ensure adherence to best practices and governance frameworks.

Required Skills

Functional Skills

Strong hands-on experience in SAP EAM/PM configuration.

Deep knowledge of:

o Asset lifecycle management

o Preventive & Predictive maintenance

o Shutdown maintenance

o Spare parts and maintenance cost management

o Warranty management

Understanding of integration with procurement, inventory, production, and finance.

Technical/Integration Skills (Good to Have)

Basic ABAP debugging knowledge.

Experience with SAP Fiori apps for EAM.

Familiarity with S/4HANA Asset Management functionalities.

Exposure to mobility solutions (SAP Asset Manager, Work Manager, etc.).

Knowledge of GIS, vibration monitoring/IoT, and reliability engineering tools.

Soft Skills

Excellent communication & stakeholder management.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills.

Ability to lead workshops and collaborate in cross-functional environments.

Proactive, hands-on approach with strong business acumen.

Education

Bachelors degree in Engineering (Mechanical/Electrical/Instrumentation preferred) or IT.

SAP PM/EAM certification is an advantage.
