Technical Support Engineer SAP Datasphere & Databricks


Department: Data Platforms (Enterprise IT)

Role Overview

Client is seeking a Technical Support Engineer specializing in SAP Datasphere and Databricks to provide L1/L2 support for our global Data & Analytics platforms. This role ensures high availability, reliability, and performance of critical data services that power scientific and business insights across the organization.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in troubleshooting, monitoring, and supporting SAP Datasphere, Databricks, and related data integration tools, combined with strong problem-solving skills and a customer-first mindset.

Key Responsibilities

Incident Management & Resolution

  • Provide L1/L2 support for SAP Datasphere and Databricks environments, ensuring timely resolution of incidents and service requests.
  • Monitor data pipelines, jobs, and integrations for failures or performance issues.
  • Troubleshoot connectivity, configuration, and data ingestion problems across SAP and Databricks platforms.
  • Perform root cause analysis and implement preventive measures for recurring issues.

Operational Excellence

  • Maintain and update SOPs for incident handling, escalation, and resolution.
  • Ensure adherence to SLAs and KPIs for ticket resolution and system uptime.
  • Collaborate with Data/SAP engineering teams for complex issues and permanent fixes.


Required Qualifications & Skills

  • 25 years of experience in technical support or application support roles.
  • Hands-on experience with:
  • SAP Datasphere (data modeling, integration, connectivity troubleshooting)
  • Databricks (cluster management, job monitoring, performance tuning)
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Azure services (Data Factory, Storage) and Power BI is a plus.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Experience with ITIL practices and ticketing tools (ServiceNow, Jira).
  • Excellent communication skills for global stakeholder interaction.

Preferred Certifications

  • SAP Datasphere or SAP Analytics certifications.
  • Databricks Certified Associate or Professional.
  • ITIL Foundation.
