Salary: As per industry standards (Fixed + Performance Incentives)


Reporting To: VP Government & PSU Business


Job Overview:

We are looking for an experienced and results-driven Business Development Manager (BDM) with a strong track record in selling IT solutions to Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) Banks. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in solution-based selling, established relationships within ministries, departments, and public sector bodies, and the ability to drive complex sales cycles in a consultative manner


Key Responsibilities:

  • Account Management & Business Development:
  • Identify, develop, and manage key government and PSU accounts to achieve targeted revenue goals.
  • Build and nurture relationships with decision-makers across central/state governments, defense, public utilities, and public sector enterprises.
  • Track upcoming tenders, RFPs, and empanelment opportunities, drive participation in the bidding process.
  • Solution Selling:
  • Understand client challenges and propose customized IT infrastructure or managed service solutions.
  • Collaborate with internal pre-sales, technical, and delivery teams to design end-to-end solutions that meet client specifications.
  • Conduct presentations, demos, and workshops tailored to government procurement formats and frameworks.
  • Bid Management & Proposal Coordination:
  • Lead and coordinate the proposal creation process including technical documentation, compliance matrices, and commercial offerings.
  • Ensure timely and compliant submissions of government tenders (GeM, eProc portals, NIC, etc.).
  • Strategic Growth:
  • Contribute to market intelligence, competitor benchmarking, and identifying white space opportunities within the public sector ecosystem.
  • Drive long-term account strategies and participate in policy-related discussions and forums relevant to public procurement and IT modernization.


Required Skills & Experience:

  • Proven experience in handling government and PSU accounts in an IT/Technology/Infrastructure organization.
  • Strong knowledge of government procurement processes, RFP lifecycle, and vendor empanelment procedures.
  • Experience in solution-based sales (IT infrastructure, cybersecurity, cloud, data centers, networking, etc.).
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong presentation skills with the ability to influence technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience working with GeM, NIC e-tendering portals, and public bid formats.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.


Educational Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering, IT, or a related field.
  • MBA in Sales/Marketing/Public Policy is an added advantage.
