Role Description
- This is a full-time role for a Sales Engineer Home Automation based in Kozhikode.
- The Sales Engineer will be responsible for generating leads, understanding customer requirements, proposing smart home solutions, and driving sales growth for residential and commercial automation projects. The role involves client meetings, product demonstrations, preparing proposals, and coordinating with the technical team for solution design and project execution.
- The ideal candidate should have both technical understanding and sales capability to effectively explain smart home technologies and help customers choose the right automation solutions.
- Experience with KNX, LUTRON, HDL, BusPro, Control4, or similar home automation platforms is an added advantage.
- The role requires frequent travel to customer locations in North of Kerala.
- The candidate must have proficiency in Malayalam and English.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and develop new business opportunities in residential and commercial automation.
- Meet homeowners, architects, interior designers, builders, and consultants to promote automation solutions.
- Understand customer requirements and recommend suitable automation solutions.
- Conduct product demonstrations and presentations for smart home technologies.
- Prepare proposals, quotations, BOQs, and solution presentations.
- Work closely with the technical engineering team for solution design and project feasibility.
- Maintain strong relationships with clients, architects, and channel partners.
- Follow up on leads, proposals, and convert them into successful sales orders.
- Achieve sales targets and contribute to business growth.
- Support customers during the pre-sales and early project stages.
Qualifications
- MBA in Marketing / Sales, or Bachelors degree in Engineering (Electrical, Electronics, Computer Engineering), Business Administration, or a related field.
- 25 years of experience in technical sales, automation, electrical systems, smart home solutions, or related industries.
- Basic understanding of home automation technologies and smart home ecosystems.
- Knowledge of automation systems such as KNX, HDL BusPro, Control4, Lutron, Schneider Electric, ABB is an advantage.
- Familiarity with lighting automation, curtain control, HVAC integration, AV systems, and security integration is a plus.
- Ability to understand technical systems and explain them clearly to customers.
- Strong sales, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Experience in preparing proposals, quotations, and BOQs is an advantage.
- Basic knowledge of IP networking, smart home apps, and voice assistants (Alexa / Google) is a plus.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills in English and Malayalam.
