Sales Commission Analyst - Contractual (3-6 Years)
Role Overview
We are looking for a Sales Commission Analyst to manage and optimize Clients sales commission processes. You will be the go-to person for everything related to sales commissions and incentive plans - from design and calculation to analysis and rep support. This role works closely with Sales, Finance, and Revenue Operations, and is ideal for someone who loves numbers, cares deeply about accuracy, and can communicate clearly across teams.
What You'll Do
- Compensation Design & Administration
- Design, implement, and manage sales compensation plans - commissions, bonuses, SPIFFs, and accelerators
- Own the monthly and quarterly commissions close process end-to-end
- Prepare and share compensation statements with sales reps in a clear, transparent way
- Maintain and improve compensation dashboards and tracking tools
- Quota & Planning
- Support annual compensation planning and quota-setting cycles
- Build a consistent, repeatable quota process across all sales roles
- Model "what-if" scenarios to evaluate financial impact of plan changes
- Analytics & Reporting
- Analyze compensation trends and payout data to identify issues and improvement areas
- Share regular reports and insights with Sales and Finance leadership
- Conduct market benchmarking to keep plans competitive
- Systems & Compliance
- Administer the ICM (Incentive Compensation Management) tool - plan setup, data processing, and payout audits
- Ensure clean data flow between Salesforce, HRIS, and the ICM platform
- Audit compensation data regularly for accuracy and policy compliance
- Maintain clear documentation of all plans and processes
- Stakeholder Support
- Partner with Sales, Finance, HR, and RevOps to keep compensation aligned with business goals
- Be the first point of contact for commission queries and disputes from the sales team
- Train and educate reps and managers on how plans work and how payouts are calculated
What We're Looking For
Required
- 3-6 years of experience in Sales Compensation, Sales Operations, or Finance - ideally in a SaaS company
- Strong Excel or Google Sheets skills (formulas, pivot tables, scenario modeling)
- Experience with Salesforce or similar CRM tools
- Familiarity with ICM tools.
- Sharp attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines
- Strong communication skills - able to explain complex comp topics in simple terms
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field
Nice to Have
- Experience with BI tools like Tableau, Looker, or Power BI
- Basic SQL knowledge
- Exposure to SOX compliance or audit documentation
