20 Downtown is a premium heritage banquet in Churchgate that hosts weddings, corporate events, and private celebrations.


Were known for our elegant architecture, warm hospitality, and seamless experiential flow from the first enquiry to the last guest leaving happy.


As we grow, we are strengthening our sales and client servicing team to ensure that from the point of enquiry to completion of the event, we have a single point of contact that can ensure a stellar client experience.


Role Overview


This role is the single point of ownership for revenue and client experience pre-event. You will manage enquiries, conduct venue walkthroughs, build proposals, handle negotiations within defined frameworks, and ensure every client interaction reflects the quality and standard of the 20 Downtown brand.


This is not a passive coordination role. It is a front-line, revenue-impacting role with high accountability and visibility, and is critical to reducing founder involvement in sales and servicing.

Key Responsibilities


1. Lead Management & Client Servicing


Be the first point of contact for all inbound enquiries (calls, emails, WhatsApp, website, social)


Respond promptly and professionally to all client queries


Qualify leads and understand client requirements clearly


Maintain organised lead tracking and follow-up systems


Ensure no enquiry is missed or delayed


2. Venue Walkthroughs & Tastings


Conduct venue visits and walkthroughs for potential clients


Present the space, packages, and possibilities confidently and clearly


Coordinate and manage food tastings when required


Set realistic expectations aligned with venue capabilities and brand standards


3. Proposals, Pricing & Negotiation


Prepare and share proposals based on defined packages and rate cards


Handle negotiations within approved pricing and discount frameworks


Clearly communicate inclusions, exclusions, timelines, and terms


Ensure accuracy and consistency in all rates shared with clients


4. Outbound sales and Corporate Outreach


Proactively identify and reach out to corporate clients, offices, agencies, and institutions in and around the Churchgate / South Mumbai area


Pitch 20 Downtown for: Corporate meetings, workshops, townhalls, team lunches, breakfasts, and networking events.


Build and maintain a pipeline of corporate prospects


Set up office visits and meetings with corporate offices in the vicinity.


Track outreach efforts, responses, and conversions.


Develop long-term relationships to drive long term corporate relationships and contracts.


5. Conversion & Closure Ownership


Drive enquiries to conversion with structured follow-ups


Secure confirmations, contracts, and advances as per process


Own the full sales funnel enquiry proposal confirmation


Ensure zero ambiguity at the point of closure


6. Client Relationship Management


Act as the clients primary point of contact pre-event


Be available on event days as client liaison, and collaborate with the operations team to ensure excellent client service


Manage changes, queries, and updates professionally


Support issue resolution in coordination with Ops when required


7. Reporting & Process Discipline


Maintain accurate records of enquiries, conversions, and losses


Share regular sales updates and pipeline reports with management


Flag recurring objections, pricing issues, or process gaps


Help refine sales SOPs, packages, and client communication as the business scales



Requirements


25 years of experience in sales, client servicing, hospitality, or events


Strong verbal and written communication skills


Comfortable with client-facing roles and negotiations


Highly organised, reliable, and detail-oriented


Able to work independently and take ownership of outcomes


Calm under pressure with good judgment


Excel / Google Sheets proficiency


Proficiency in making presentations and product packages.


Comfortable working weekends or extended hours during peak periods
