RPA Developer (Automation Anywhere)

As an RPA Developer at smartSense, you will be responsible for designing, developing, deploying, and maintaining automation solutions using Automation Anywhere . You will collaborate with business stakeholders to automate manual, repetitive processes and support our growing RPA ecosystem.

1. Key Responsibilities:

Process Analysis & Design

• Understand business workflows and identify automation opportunities.
• Conduct feasibility analysis and create PDD (Process Definition Documents) and SDD (Solution Design Documents).
• Design scalable and efficient process automations.

Bot Development (Automation Anywhere)

• Develop TaskBots, MetaBots, and reusable components using Automation Anywhere (AA360/A2019/v11).
• Build integrations with databases, Excel, APIs, web/desktop applications.
• Use scripting languages (Python, JavaScript, VBScript) for advanced logic.
• Ensure bot versions, configurations, and credentials are handled securely.

Testing & Deployment

• Create and execute unit test cases; perform debugging and error handling.
• Support UAT and incorporate business feedback.
• Deploy bots via Automation Anywhere Control Room following RPA governance guidelines.

Maintenance & Support

• Monitor bot performance in production and resolve exceptions or failures.
• Optimize existing bots for performance, stability, and efficiency.
• Provide post-deployment support and implement enhancements.

Governance, Documentation & Compliance

• Maintain all technical documentation, test cases, and run-books.
• Follow RPA best practices and internal coding standards.
• Ensure compliance with ISO 27001:2022, data privacy, and PII handling norms.

2. Requirements / What We Expect

Professional Background:

• 35 years of hands-on experience working as an RPA Developer.
• Proven experience developing and deploying bots on Automation Anywhere (mandatory).
• Strong understanding of RPA lifecycle: analysis design development testing deployment support.
• Knowledge of Automation Anywhere Control Room, Credential Vault, bot architecture, and exception handling.
• Experience working with SQL queries, databases, APIs, Excel automation, and enterprise systems.
• Ability to troubleshoot issues quickly and deliver stable, high-quality automations.
• Good communication skills to collaborate with business and technical stakeholders.

Technical Expectations:

• Ability to translate business requirements into high-quality automation workflows.
• Strong logical reasoning and process-oriented thinking.
• Capability to optimize existing automations for scalability and performance.
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as JavaScript, Python, or VBScript.
• Familiarity with SDLC, bot versioning, and secure credential handling.

Good to have: (Optional)

• Automation Anywhere Certification (Advanced/Master).
• Experience with other RPA tools (UiPath, Blue Prism).
• Exposure to OCR, document automation, AI/ML, or cognitive automation.
• Understanding of DevOps, version control, or cloud deployments.

3. Must Have Skills:

• Expertise in Automation Anywhere
• Ability to build, test, and deploy bots end-to-end.
• Strong understanding of Control Room, Credential Vault, and bot error handling.
• Experience integrating bots with APIs, databases, and enterprise applications.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset.
