Job Description

Objectives

The MPS Rotating Equipment Engineering Team Lead is a Senior Rotating Equipment Engineer responsible for managing and developing a team of Rotating Equipment Engineers. The Team Lead may also be assigned to project or proposal execution and will carry full responsibilities of the MPS Rotating Equipment Engineer role.

• Rotating Engineering hour efficiency (Booking vs Budget)
• Rotating Engineering utilization
• On-time delivery (OTD) of rotating engineering deliverables
• Contractual nonconformance reports (NCRs)
• Engineering design change notifications (EDNC) entries and Management of Changes (MOCs)
• Lessons Learned implementation
• Service Quality (SQs)

Roles & Responsibilities / Activities

• Perform equipment sizing, selection, procurement support, technical reviews, and vendor followups for all rotating equipment.
• Stay updated with international industry codes and guidelines.
• Deliver project requirements within budget and schedule.
• Support commissioning and maintenance of rotating equipment for Production Facilities.
• Assess engineering performance, conduct quality reviews, and provide improvements.
• Assist Mechanical Engineering Management in evaluating team skills and creating development plans.
• Support recruitment and conduct technical interviews.
• Maintain expertise in rotating/packaged equipment such as:
• Pumps (all types), Gas compressors, Instrument air packages, Nitrogen generation packages, Chemical injection packages, etc.
• Lead Mechanical Rotating Engineering efforts for proposals/projects; ensure timely delivery per MDL.
• Prepare datasheets, technical specifications, technical requisitions, and bid evaluations.
• Supervise thirdparty engineering contractors and vendors.
• Perform CAPEX & OPEX cost analysis for equipment lifecycle cost evaluation.
• Use vendor software/tools for pump and compressor sizing; perform motor/engine power calculations.
• Attend Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and validate reports.
• Provide technical support to Operations.
• Participate in 3D Model Review, HAZOP, and SIL studies.
• Collaborate with crossfunctional teams, vendors, fabricators, and thirdparty inspection agencies for fabrication, testing, and quality checks.
• Uphold HSSE standards ensuring a safe and compliant work environment.

Qualifications

Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering

Experience:

• 6+ years of relevant experience
• Background in EPC organizations, design consultancies, or production facilities as Senior Engineer or Lead

Expertise & Skills:

• Deep technical understanding of rotating equipment
• Strong knowledge and application of international standards: ASME, API, NFPA, NACE, ANSI, PIP, ISO
• Handson experience with all types of API pumps and compressors
• Proficient in Microsoft Office
• Strong leadership and communication abilities
