Job Overview


We are hiring a Robotics Engineer Intern to support the development, integration, and deployment of advanced robotic systems for indoor farming applications. This role offers hands-on experience across the full robotics stackincluding mechanical design, electrical integration, embedded software, sensor processing, simulation, and cloud connectivityfor tasks like planting, monitoring, harvesting, and autonomous navigation in controlled agricultural environments. The ideal candidate is passionate about robotics in sustainable agriculture, has a solid foundation in how mechanical, electrical, and software systems interact,has hands-on project experience, and can startimmediately.


Key Responsibilities


  • Assistin designing, assembling, and testing robotic prototypes for indoor farm tasks such as planting, crop monitoring, harvesting, and autonomous navigation.
  • Support integration of mechanical components, electrical systems, sensors, and software stacks on edge computing platforms.
  • Contribute to developing and debugging ROS2-based robot control software, including navigation, manipulation, andperceptionpipelines.
  • Help implement cloud connectivity features (e.g., using Azure IoT services) for telemetry upload, remotediagnosticsand data visualization.
  • Participate in system-level testing, calibration, and troubleshooting of interdisciplinary issues in lab and simulated farm environments.
  • Collaborate with engineers across disciplines to ensure reliable data flow from edge devices to cloud platforms.
  • Document designs, integration processes, cloud configurations, test results, and findings to support team progress.
  • Research emerging tools and components, including edge optimization and simulation techniques, to enhance system scalability and performance.


Technical Skills


  • BasicproficiencyinROS2 , including understanding of middleware, QoS profiles and key packages such asNav2 andMoveIt2 .
  • Familiarity with programming languages like Python and/or C++ for robotics and scripting.
  • Understanding ofmechanical design tools (e.g., SolidWorks, Fusion 360) and electrical fundamentals (e.g., sensors, motors, wiring).
  • Exposure to embedded systems (e.g., Arduino, ESP32) and communication protocols (e.g., MQTT, I2C, SPI, UART).
  • Experience with edge devices such asNVIDIA Jetson series, including basic optimization techniques for real-time performance and power efficiency.
  • Basic knowledge of computer vision is a plus
  • Familiarity withsimulation tools likeGazebo for testing andvalidatingrobotic behaviors in virtual environments.
  • Understanding ofsensor calibration andsensor fusion techniques.
  • Knowledge of common robotics sensors such asIMU ,LiDAR ,encoders , and their integration.
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms, particularly Microsoft Azure (e.g., Azure IoT Hub, Azure IoT Edge) is a plus.
  • Experience with version control (e.g., Git) and basic Linux environments.
  • Strong analytical skills for diagnosing issues across hardware, software, sensors, and cloud interfaces.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities in a fast-moving environment.


Eligibility


  • Currently pursuing or recentlycompletedaBachelorsdegree in Robotics Engineering, Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, ora relatedfield.
  • Hands-on robotics experience through academic projects, competitions, personal builds, orpreviousinternships is preferred.
  • Ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced startup environment with rapid iteration cycles.
  • Must be available to startimmediatelyand work on-site.
