Job Description
Harvested Robotics is an agri-robotics startup building AI-powered laser weeding machines for farm tractors. Our robots operate directly in farm conditions heat, dust, vibration, uneven terrain and must work reliably outside the lab. We design and ship complete robotic systems: perception, tracking, manipulation, control, electronics, and high-power hardware all integrated and tested in the field.
Location: Hyderabad, India (Onsite)
Type: Full-time / Internship (6 months) with full-time opportunity
About the Role:
We are seeking a Robotics Engineer to design, develop, and own the real-time tracking and manipulation systems of our robotic platforms. The role involves converting vision-based detections into accurate real-world actions using robotics mathematics, kinematics, perception, and control. The engineer will work on camera-based perception, visual-inertial odometry, coordinate transformations, inverse kinematics, and real-time control to enable precise target tracking and actuation in challenging outdoor conditions.
This is a hands-on role with end-to-end ownership from algorithm design to deployment on real hardware.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement real-time target tracking pipelines using camera-based detections.
- Convert camera frame coordinates to robot/world coordinates using calibration and geometric transformations.
- Develop and maintain inverse kinematics and motion control algorithms for gimbals and manipulators.
- Track and actuate on targets in real time while accounting for vibration, latency, sensor noise, and motion blur.
- Develop and support perception-adjacent systems including: Visual-Inertial Odometry (VIO), IMU and wheel odometry fusion, Pose estimation and sensor synchronization
- Configure and maintain multi-camera systems including placement, calibration, timing, and exposure.
- Support multi-gimbal or multi-module tracking and manipulation setups.
- Integrate and debug systems using ROS / ROS2, RViz, and Gazebo.
- Collaborate closely with embedded, controls, mechanical, and perception teams.
- Test, tune, and validate systems on real machines in field conditions.
- Document system architecture, algorithms, and integration procedures.
Required Qualifications:
- Strong fundamentals in robotics kinematics, dynamics, and coordinate transformations.
- Hands-on experience with inverse kinematics and motion control for robotic systems.
- Solid understanding of perception systems including VIO, IMU integration, and wheel odometry.
- Experience working with ROS or ROS2 in real hardware environments.
- Proficiency in C++ and/or Python.
- Experience deploying robotics systems from simulation to hardware to field testing.
- Experience with Gazebo, MoveIt, SLAM, or motion planning frameworks.
- Ability to work with noisy sensors and real-world constraints.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with gimbal systems, robotic manipulators, or precision actuation.
- Familiarity with camera systems, industrial cameras, lenses, lighting, and synchronization.
- Understanding of control systems such as PID and MPC.
- Familiarity with edge computing platforms for robotics and vision workloads.
Benefits:
- Small, fast-moving team with high ownership and responsibility.
- Growth opportunities as the product and team scale.
- Work alongside our in-house Golden Retriever, Denver Chief Happiness Officer (CHO) , who ensures morale, focus breaks, and unconditional support during long build days.
