Job Title: Risk Senior Portfolio Lead, VP

Location: Mumbai, India

Role Description

• We are seeking a seasoned & strategic professional to lead our Common Regulatory Team function; 
• This Senior Leadership role will be responsible for overseeing all regulatory compliance activities, ensuring alignment with Reserve Bank of India/ regulatory guidelines and maintaining a strong control environment;
• The role requires close collaboration with internal business units, senior management, external/ internal auditors including RBI officials.

Your key responsibilities

Position Specific Responsibilities and Accountabilities

• Develop & implement policies, procedures and frameworks in alignment with evolving regulatory requirements;
• Independently manage India’s banking Regulator i.e Reserve Bank of India’s Head of Supervision throughout the year especially during onsite inspections;
• Monitor regulatory developments and ensure timely communication and implementation across the organization;
• Oversee accurate and timely submission of all regulatory reports & returns;
• Make presentation to India ExCo members outlining key regulatory reports, monitoring local exposures & providing updates on local automation projects;
• Engage with senior management of key functions including 1 LoD, Ops, Finance, Treasury, Legal, Compliance etc;
• Handle Internal / External audits including Statutory, Concurrent, Compliance Testing;
• Lead CRM for Key regulatory projects:-
  • Developing architecture for new regulatory reports
  • Taking decisions on automating regulatory reports
  • Developing a regulatory framework for GIFT City (70% of incremental TF business being booked out of GIFT City)
  • Develop EWS (Early Warning System) in accordance with Regulatory requirements
• Governance of the entire MNC local endorsement process. Potential to support other geographies as well;

Your skills and experience

Qualifications & Experience

• Post Graduate degree (MBA/ CA equivalent). Minimum 10 yrs experience in banking, financial services or regulatory bodies with atleast 5 yrs is a senior regulatory role;
• Proven experience in dealing with regulators, auditors & other stakeholders across different divisions of the bank;
• Good understanding of the RBI Master Directions, circulars & regulatory reporting obligations;
• Familiarity with audit protocols & engagement with statutory/ external/ internal auditors.

Skills & Competencies

• Good MS Office skills, esp. in Microsoft Word / Excel / PowerPoint/ MS Access.
• Excellent stakeholder management & interpersonal skills;
• Strong leadership, organizational & decision making capabilities;
• Strong communication & presentation skills;
• Ability to work in a dynamic & high-pressure environment;
