Job Title- Risk Analyst, NCT

Location- Mumbai, India

Role Description

This position is part of the Control function providing Data Analytics and MIS support services to the broader team called GCAF - GLOBAL CREDIT ANALYTICS FUNCTION. GCAF is engaged in counterparty credit risk assessment & Probability of Default (PD) Ratings. Additionally, the Control function is also engaged in doing Business Analytics and providing a Dashboard report to the Senior management explaining the quality of GCAF deliverables.

A Business Analytics role for a specific business of Ratings and Credit function who would be engaged in various activities for Controls function and independently assesses risks and/or controls (as required), providing analysis where needed. They monitor KPIs of Ratings and Credit function and support with data requirements for assessment of the business function. Role holders also support decision-making and approvals around risks and preparation of key risk documentation and reports. The analyst provides high quality standardised reporting to internal stakeholders, in a timely manner, to address current and future business needs. The analyst will extract data from different systems and leverage standard templates to deliver against regular and planned reporting requirements

Your key responsibilities

Position Description

  • This position is part of the group providing data and MIS support services to the broader team called GCAF - GLOBAL CREDIT ANALYTICS FUNCTION.
  • GCAF is engaged in counterparty credit risk assessment & Probability of Default (PD) Ratings, while this team is supporting through:
    • Support on MIS using MS Excel, Access and Powerpoint
    • Dashboard for the Senior Management
    • Data Management in various forms, mostly excel
    • Delivering on adhoc support and data requests
    • Co-ordination with various stakeholders (internal/external including very senior designees and their teams)
    • Delivering required data within agreed timelines
    • Researching various data sources as per the set process to search and seek financials of global corporates
    • Understanding financials and inputting key financial values in system for assessment
    • Ensuring all required data is stored in the agreed format and location of the local data storage facility
    • Delivering required data by within agreed timelines

Position Specific Responsibilities and Accountabilities

  • Ensure data accuracy and integrity by filtering of data and noting down the sources for later references
  • Prepare and follow pipeline of requests and work
  • Work on routine Controls MIS reports as per the agreed timelines
  • Adhoc designing and generation of MIS / presentation for various levels of management and stakeholders across the Bank

Your skills and experience

Experience

  • Minimum 1 year experience in a similar data oriented / MIS related role providing hands on experience on Excel tools.
  • Good to have the experience working with VBA and reports automation
  • Knowledge of Tableau, Power BI, and Business Objects is preferable

Technical Skills

  • Proficient in MS 365 is a must
  • Knowledge of coding like Oracle, Power BI, Tableau, VBA programming is preferred
  • Good computer skills, esp. in Microsoft Word / Excel / PowerPoint/ MS Access.
  • Basic knowledge of financial statements. Will be helpful if the candidate has experience in Bloomberg, Factiva, Bankscope and/or other such financial data sources

Soft Skills

  • Analytical skills to understand specific data requirements, basic knowledge of financial markets
  • Demonstrate ability to search, collate and present data required by research analysts within stipulated time
  • Good general knowledge and keen interest in financial sector developments across the globe
  • While being a good Team player, must be a self-starter, pro-active in bringing new ideas and solutions to the table
  • Must be a self-starter, be pro-active in bringing new ideas and solutions in data collation and maintenance of existing data sources (e.g. automation of data retrieval, building of templates in Excel)
  • Demonstrate ability to manage own time effectively, multi task, quickly absorb ideas and facts while maintaining a strict eye for detail
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills (must be fluent in English)
  • Excellent organizational and administration skills along with analytical skills

Education/ Qualifications

  • Minimum Required: Any Graduate (Bachelors in Commerce, Accounting & Finance, Banking & Insurance / Bachelors in Management Studies / Economics background / Certification or training in programming)
  • Desirable: M. Com / MBA / MFM / PG Diploma
