Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Research And Development Specialist based in Chennai.

The Research And Development Specialist will be responsible for conducting experiments, analyzing data, preparing research reports, and supporting ongoing research projects.

• Experience in Oil chemistry - Composition, dispersal and degradation. Bioremediation, Bioleaching, Bioaccumulation, Biotransformation techniques and experimentation.
• Microbial functional characterization and consortium creation and management. Isolation and characterisation of indigenous microbes.
• Design and execution of Microbiology, biochemistry and molecular biology experiments with proper controls and scientific logic.
• Write grant applications and proposals.
• Proficiency in laboratory techniques, equipment maintenance, and safety protocols
• General laboratory management, documentation and maintenance
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Effective communication, teamwork, and documentation skills
• Prepare and present results in meetings, workshops and roadshows
• Familiarity with current trends and technologies in biotechnology is a plus

Qualifications and Experience

PhD in relevant fields or Masters with 2 years of relevant Industrial or working experience (Research Scientist), Post-Graduate (M.Sc or M.Tech) in Life Sciences, namely Biotechnology, Microbiology, Molecular biology or Environmental Biotechnology (Research Associate). Industrial experience will get higher preference. Good standards in spoken and written English, well-versed in documentation and presentation.
