Report Developer (MySQL)

Experience: 2 to 6 years

About the Role:

We are looking for a skilled Report Developer experienced in MySQL to design, develop, and maintain business intelligence reports and dashboards. The candidate will be responsible for creating efficient data models, optimizing SQL queries, and delivering visually insightful reports that support decision-making across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

Design and develop interactive BIRT/JASPER/other similar reports, dashboards, and visualizations based on business requirements.

Connect Reporting tool with MySQL databases using JDBC and configure data sources, datasets, and parameters.

Write and optimize SQL queries, joins, and stored procedures for report generation.

Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into technical reporting solutions.

Ensure data accuracy, report performance, and scalability.

Deploy and maintain BIRT reports in web environments (Tomcat/JBoss/WebSphere).

Troubleshoot and resolve report generation or deployment issues.

Document technical specifications, report structures, and data mapping.

Required Skills:

Hands-on experience with Report Designers and Runtime.

Strong knowledge of MySQL (schema design, queries, optimization).

Proficiency in SQL and understanding of relational database concepts.

Experience integrating BIRT with Java applications using JDBC connections.

Familiarity with Eclipse IDE and web server deployments (Tomcat preferred).

Good analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Preferred Skills:

Experience working with data visualization and dashboarding tools.

Knowledge of Java, JSP, or REST APIs for report embedding.

Understanding of ETL concepts and data processing pipelines.

Exposure to version control systems (Git, SVN).

Educational Qualification:

B.E / B.Tech / MCA / M.Sc. in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a equivalent field.
