Role Summary

The RAMS Engineer is responsible for ensuring that railway gangway systems meet defined Reliability, Availability, Maintainability, and Safety (RAMS) requirements across the full product life cycle, in compliance with international railway standards and customer specifications.


Key Responsibilities


Reliability & Availability

  • Develop and manage RAMS plans in accordance with EN 50126 / IEC 62278
  • Perform FMEA / FMECA, reliability block diagrams, and failure rate calculations
  • Calculate MTBF, MTTR, Availability (Ao/Ai)
  • Support design optimization to reduce failure rates

Maintainability

  • Define maintenance concepts, intervals, and repair strategies
  • Support spare parts strategy and maintenance manuals
  • Ensure maintainability targets are achieved (accessibility, repair time)

Safety

  • Conduct Hazard Identification (HAZID) and risk analysis
  • Maintain Hazard Log throughout the project
  • Support preparation of Safety Case / Safety Report
  • Ensure compliance with EN 50126 / EN 50129 safety requirements

Qualifications & Skills

  • B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical, or Systems Engineering
  • 38 years experience in RAMS or system safety (railway preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of railway standards
  • Experience with mechanical railway or Metro systems is a plus
  • Analytical mindset with strong documentation skills
  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems, manufacturing processes, and engineering terminology.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in documentation tools (e.g., MS Office,).
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects.
  • Attention to detail with a high level of accuracy and accountability.

  • Design Engineering
  • Quality & IRIS (ISO/TS 22163)
  • Manufacturing & Service teams
  • Support audits and technical reviews
  • Knowledge of ISO standards for technical documentation.
  • Experience with content management systems and version control tools.
  • Basic understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
  • Ability to create technical illustrations using graphic tools.
