Job Description

Role: Registrar( Maharashtra)

Organisation: Jio University (Under Reliance Foundation Institution of Education & Research)

Location: Navi Mumbai- Ulwe, Maharashtra


Job Purpose:

The Registrar will be responsible for the overall academic administration, statutory compliance, regulatory coordination, and governance of the University in alignment with UGC, AICTE, State Government, AISHE, ABC Portal, DigiLocker, MahaDBT, and other higher education regulatory bodies.

The role requires deep hands-on experience in university administration, regulatory reporting, academic records management, and coordination with statutory authorities.


Key Responsibilities

1. University Administration & Governance

  • Oversee day-to-day academic and administrative operations of the University.
  • Support the Vice Chancellor in execution of academic policies and institutional governance.
  • Maintain and manage official university records, notices, circulars, and documentation.

2. Regulatory & Statutory Compliance

  • Ensure timely and accurate submission of data and reports to:
  • UGC
  • AICTE
  • AISHE
  • ABC Portal & DigiLocker
  • MahaDBT
  • State Higher Education Department
  • Handle documentation for inspections, audits, and statutory reviews.
  • Act as the nodal officer for regulatory communications and compliance tracking.

3. Academic Records & Examination Management

  • Supervise maintenance of student academic records through ERP systems.
  • Oversee examination processes, result documentation, and academic data integrity.
  • Ensure compliance with university norms for admissions, examinations, and certifications.

4. Committee Coordination & Reporting

  • Coordinate and support University committees such as:
  • UGC Proforma Committee
  • Academic Council
  • SC/ST/OBC Committee
  • Annual Report Committee
  • Prepare institutional reports and documentation for university governance.

5. Inter-Department & Stakeholder Coordination

  • Liaise with Deans, HODs, Admin teams, and external authorities.
  • Ensure smooth communication between university departments and regulatory bodies.

6. Government & Statutory Liaisoning

  • Coordinate with State Government departments and education authorities.
  • Handle correspondence and documentation related to university approvals and compliance.


Required Qualifications

  • Graduate / Postgraduate (Education / Management / Law preferred)
  • Minimum 610 years of experience in University / Higher Education Administration
  • Prior experience in Registrar Office / VC Office / University Admin Office


Essential Skills & Experience

  • Strong knowledge of UGC, AICTE, AISHE, ABC, DigiLocker, MahaDBT compliance
  • Experience in handling university records, academic documentation, and regulatory reports
  • Familiarity with ERP/SAP systems for academic administration
  • Excellent documentation, coordination, and governance skills
  • Experience in handling audits, inspections, and statutory reviews
