About the Team and the Role:

The Controllership team at Ather is responsible for performing periodic book closure procedures across all financial modules, ensuring accurate management reporting, and maintaining a strong internal control framework. The team coordinates across various functions including Business Finance, Financial Planning & Analysis team, Treasury, and Tax to ensure compliance with Ind AS and statutory audit requirements.

As our Lead for Record to Report, you will be a member of the Finance Controllership Team, responsible for ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and compliance of our financial records and reporting processes in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual book closure processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting in compliance with IND-AS.

• Design, implement, and manage robust financial processes and internal controls for key areas including Property, Plant and Equipment, warranty, revenue & receivables, purchase to payable etc.. This includes end to end ownership from process and reporting perspective

• Managing statutory audit, tax audit and internal audit engagements, acting as the primary point of contact for external auditors and regulatory authorities.

• Partner with cross-functional teams as the Record to Report subject matter expert to ensure financial decisions are guided by sound accounting principles and internal control policies

• Build scalable ERP platforms with strong ICFR framework

• Lead critical financial initiatives, encompassing fundraising due diligence and ensuring compliance with Ind AS for product development expense finalization.

• Oversee and manage all corporate insurance programs and policies, engaging directly with brokers and insurance companies.

• Be a core team of the due-diligence projects for fund (equity/debt) raising, rating agencies

Experience and Qualifications:

A Chartered Accountant qualification with relevant work experience of 8-12 years post-qualification.

Must have Competencies:

• Demonstrated expertise in accounting processes, IND-AS reporting standards, and controllership within a listed manufacturing/retail entity or a Big 4 firm.

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and hands-on experience with ERP systems such as SAP, BPC.

• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, meet strict deadlines, and build effective relationships with diverse internal and external stakeholders.

Good to have Competencies:

• Experience with financial process automation tools or initiatives to drive efficiency.

• Prior involvement in an ERP implementation or major system upgrade project.

• Familiarity with the financial and accounting nuances of the electric vehicle or automotive manufacturing industry.
