Real time index developer - AI Developer

Your Team Responsibilities

The MSCI Index System calculates and distributes equity indices to financial markets in real time. We are seeking an Engineer to join a team dedicated to delivering low-latency, highly reliable indexation solutions using a hybrid architecture that leverages Azure cloud services and on-premises data center infrastructure. The team is responsible for designing and implementing technology solutions for real-time index production and distribution. You will work closely will our Java engineers to add AI capability to run the operation in the real time system.

Your Key Responsibilities

• Develop AI capabililty to real time index system. Exposing real time index services to AI Agent, and automate manual operations.

• Maintain high-performance, low-latency Java services that support real-time index calculation and distribution.

• Implement scalable, resilient solutions across a hybrid Azure / on-premises architecture.

• Collaborate with Research, Data and Program Management to translate business requirements into technical designs.

• Optimize code and system architecture for throughput, latency and reliability.

• Participate in capacity planning, incident response and production support for real-time systems.

• Leverage AI-assisted developer tools (Cursor, GitHub Copilot) to accelerate implementation, auto-generate tests and documentation, and improve code quality—while critically validating outputs for correctness, security and performance.

• Design, build and maintain reproducible prompt templates and snippets for coding tasks, test generation, refactoring, and documentation so the team uses AI tools consistently and safely.

Your skills and experience that will help you excel

• Proficient in Python. Experience in MCP and AI agent development.

• Strong experience in Java and modern development practices.

• Proven experience building and operating distributed, low-latency systems.

• Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure preferred) and on-premises integration.

• Strong understanding of concurrency, multithreading, performance tuning and profiling.

• Practical experience using AI-assisted developer tools such as Cursor, GitHub Copilot as part of regular software development.

• Demonstrated ability in prompt engineering and building reproducible prompt templates for coding tasks, automated tests and documentation.

• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Experience to Azure AI Foundry is a plus.
