The candidate will provide high quality statistical deliverables on projects, across Sanofi pharma therapeutic areas, for safety analytics purpose. Working on several clinical compounds, the candidate will provide expertise on safety data integration for data visualization integrated solution.

As RDDO India Site Lead within our R&D Data Office (RDDO), you’ll get an opportunity to be a motivated individual to enter the office in the growth phase and help shape the organization’s impact to R&D. Our vision is to accelerate data driven R&D insights and decision-making for drug discovery and development. We’re doing this through enabling speedy, democratized, and compliant access to quality R&D data, and perpetuating a data-driven culture. Our team is responsible for the strategy, governance, and management of Sanofi’s R&D data. We serve as advisors, leaders, and educators to the business, data professionals and indeed all colleagues across the R&D value chain.
The RDDO Data Governance and Management Lead is an essential role for defining how R&D's structured, semi-structured and unstructured data will be stored, consumed, integrated / shared and reported by different end users such as scientists, clinicians, and more. You will also be pivotal in the development of sustainable mechanisms for ensuring data are FAIR (findable, accessible, interoperable, and reusable).

Major Responsibilities:
Acts as a single point of accountability for data governance and data management for a given domain of expertise (e.g., Research, Clinical, Regulatory etc)
In charge of establishing data governance frameworks and aligning broader stakeholder community with their data governance needs, including data quality, data access controls, compliance with privacy and security regulations, foundational master data management, data sharing, communication and change management
Drives cross functional alignment in his/her domain(s) of expertise to ensure adherence to Data Governance Principles. Provides expert guidance on business process and system design to support data governance and data/information modelling objectives
Maintain documentation and act as an expert on data definitions, data standards, data flows, legacy data structures / hierarchies, common data models, data harmonization etc. for assigned domains. Ensure compliance with data privacy, security, and regulatory policies for the assigned domains
Define and diagram workflows and capture use cases/stories and data sets; elicit requirements from business stakeholders and capture business value drivers
Developing metrics to measure effectiveness and drive adoption of Data Governance policy and standards, that will be applied to mitigate the identified risks across the data lifecycle (e.g., capture / production, aggregation / processing, reporting / consumption)
Establish R&D level standards on the nomenclature, content, and structure of information (structured and unstructured data) and metadata, glossaries, taxonomies
Jointly with RD Digital, RD business functions, and enterprise functions (e.g., Privacy etc) define the specifications shaping the development and implementation of data foundations across R&D
About you
Experience: Relevant experience in R&D lifecycle Data Management
Soft and technical skills: In-depth knowledge of R&D processes with preferred specialization in a domain (e.g., Research, Clinical, etc)
In-depth knowledge of data governance functions, processes, and technology; can design and implement DG operating models to drive Sanofi’s transformation to be data driven organization. In-depth knowledge of data management, common data models, data harmonization etc and application of data governance principles to data management activities. Basic programming skills and experience in data visualization tools
Good knowledge of cross-industry data standards; strong understand and experience with data governance and quality domains (e.g., metadata management, master data management, data quality, data stewardship, data protection etc). Experience maintaining business glossaries and inventorying/cataloguing data assets. Some familiarity/experience with modelling tools (Visio etc). Experience with data products development life cycle
Functional skills: Demonstrated leadership experience and demeanor to spearhead strategy and implementation of information standards required to meet discovery and drug development processes. Co-develop the data foundations and data products in collaboration with functions and Digital teams. Project management experience working in. a complex and matrix environment
Change agent with a combination of business, technology, and diplomatic skills, deep knowledge of drug discovery and development information and processes. Deep understanding of the data processes and requirements in R&D is required. Good communication skills especially using social media in enterprise; excellent written and oral communications skills. Strong attention to detail, quality, time management and customer focus. Demonstrated willingness to make decisions and influence senior executives/cross-functional leaders.
Ability to successfully execute complex projects in a fast-paced environment and in managing multiple priorities effectively. Excellent interpersonal skills (team player). People management skills either in matrix or direct line function. Ability to manage the budget of assigned projects. Ability to build business relationships and understand end-to-end data use and needs. Aware of industry trends and priorities and can apply to governance and policies.
Education: PhD, MSc in computer science, software engineering, Management Information Systems, MBA or related area
Languages: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in oral and written English.
