Summary:

Responsible for providing independent Second Line of Defense (2LoD) oversight for the Risk Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) program activities through objective risk assessment, effective challenge, monitoring, and reporting of the Bank's Risk Profile, to ensure adherence to the program and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate should have strong verbal and written communication skills, be detail oriented be able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced dynamic environment, can challenge the group think mindset and have an inquisitive nature that allows them to ask probing questions. In order to perform this role, a high level of interaction is required with senior leaders and business areas at all levels of the organization and be able to apply critical thinking to review and challenge the information provided. 

Responsibilities:

  • Provide 2LOD effective challenge and oversight ensuring risks and controls are inventoried accurately, adhere to program requirements and align to defined risk taxonomies.
  • Engage with other stakeholders and business partners to help ensure key relevant risks and controls are identified, assessed, and documented.
  • Provide objective oversight of risks through quality control using defined methodologies and subject matter expertise.
  • Analyze RCSA results and prepare reports that highlight themes, root causes, and emerging risks.
  • Advance the company's risk culture and program knowledge through training, education and communication.
  • Provide consultation support for RCSA program enhancements and initiatives.
  • Develop requirements for program-specific reporting; including scorecards/dashboards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree and 2-5+ years plus of experience in risk management and/or governance role; with focus on RCSA
  • Demonstrable experience of Enterprise Risk / Operational Risk management
  • Ability to quickly learn the Bank’s RCSA procedures, processes and systems
  • Proven track record of delivering timely, high-quality results
  • Ability to leverage relationship management capabilities and problem solve
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
