We are looking for an Associate (RBI Compliance) to join our rapidly expanding compliance team.


Incumbent to the role shall be individually responsible for the RBI compliances, and be part of the team to manage the overall group level compliances, secretarial and legal aspects. This shall include strategies, regulatory inspections, audits, business partnerships, etc.


Educational Qualifications - Member of the Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) with a valid membership number


Work Experience - Minimum: 3-5 years of relevant experience in company secretarial functions


Key responsibilities shall include (but not be limited to) below aspects:


1.Compliance Framework & Risk Management

  • Ensure strict observance of all statutory and regulatory requirements of the NBFC, including standards of market conduct, managing conflict of interest, treating customers fairly and ensuring the suitability of customer services
  • Ensure that an appropriate Compliance policy is put in place and implemented rigorously across organisation
  • Carry out an annual Compliance risk assessment in order to identify and assess major Compliance risks faced by them and prepare a plan to manage the risks.


2.Regulatory Monitoring & Implementation

  • Continuously track and evaluate regulatory updates relevant to the organization
  • Assess the impact of regulatory changes on policies and business processes
  • Disseminate updates to senior management and ensure timely implementation


3.Compliance Advisory & Governance

  • Ensure strict adherence to RBI and SEBI guidelines.
  • Provide compliance advisory to business teams on loan products and related matters from applicable laws.
  • Present compliance updates, regulatory developments and impacts to key teams and train them periodically. Also suggest changes required in processes or develop new ones to mitigate risk and comply with guidelines


4.Reporting & Communication

  • Prepare and submit periodic returns to RBI and other regulators.
  • Act as the single point of contact for regulatory queries and clarifications
  • Coordinate with group entities/divisions to share compliance updates and convert into action plan based implementation.
  • Ensure proper record keeping throughout to have real time updated dataroom.


5.Testing & Review

  • Develop and implement the annual compliance testing plan.
  • Report significant compliance lapses for presenting to Board & Committees and senior leadership.
  • Conduct regular compliance reviews and test internal controls across departments.


6.Audit & Inspection Management

  • Lead annual RBI inspections, statutory and internal audits, and other regulatory reviews, including managing the matters from the lending partners from their audit/inspections
  • Ensure audit readiness, effective participation, and timely closure of audit findings.
  • Build comprehensive data room for audits & inspections


7.Legal

  • Handle legal matters including contracts, compliance, litigation, and regulatory affairs.
  • Develop and maintain contract management tool


Must-Have:

  • Working knowledge of RBI Regulations and rules thereunder for NBFC and LSP.
  • Practical understanding of lending products such as PL, LAP, BNPL.
  • Operational knowledge of SEBI regulations, including SEBI (LODR) and SEBI (ICDR).
  • Basic understanding of FEMA and RBI regulations, particularly for NBFC & LSP entity with FDI.
  • Familiarity with depository systems, RTA operations, and share capital compliances.
  • Strong drafting, communication, and stakeholder coordination skills.


Good-to-Have:

  • Exposure to IPO compliance and documentation.
